Maybe we could summarize a few things that are clear by now.

clear:
NT and flag remain untouched
some form of merger will happen
some nations "pride" is bigger than others
Utopia remains untouched, no redistribution of teams will take place

unclear:
when mergers are done, they will happen at the same time (no test, or step by step)
A few countries do not want any change at all, what happens with those? As far as I know, most of them are irrelevant from a business standpoint, which however has no importance for BB - forcing a solution might not hurt the game in the long run. The ragequit threats might be empty threats too...

no answer yet:
in the case that BB experiences a resurgence, how will "resurrected" nations be treated? Let's say Austria triples in numbers and suddenly has 150 users, is there some kind of exit scenario?
How will the B3 be reformed? Obviously there would be less DIV I winners, what's the solution for that?
Timeframe? When will the merger happen?

I am sure I missed a lot, so maybe an official could start like a "round 2 thread" summarize the current state of the project (what will definetly happen, which options are there) and we go from there.

I think you are right.
BB should make a decision based on functionality and quality of game.
To cater to people's political/racial etc. thoughts is bad. We should all just respect and appreciate our culture and origins but also all the cultures, flags, peoples etc.
All BB should do about this is to make sure they are not offensive and that they are respectful to people.
Clustering us together as nation has always bugged me anyway. It's where I live not my nationality. This is true everywhere. Not my flag, just the flag of where I live.

Maybe BB should take the lead and remove the huge bonus for domestic players. Treat every nationality equal.

Lin is American. But anyways, people love foreigners if they are outstanding. Quite hard to understand how a domestic scrub can make you more merchandise than the best player in the world.

Why all of these become the politics talk and racism. We should be ashamed on ourselves if we need this changes because of these factors, or at least close to it. If you guys complained about competitveness, the Utopia league is already there. Why we still need redundant system?

I think BB should close all this meaningless contents.

So you are saying the new-comers, who can't find a good competition, have to buy utopia if they want competitiveness(without actually playing the game competitively). This game is free, and BB-Ryan said that this was out of question.

please note: a good competition is not for every Newbie the most important thing. For some it will be important, for others not.
Some newbie join BB to socialize with other users, for others this would be less important

And screw the other people who could enjoy BB in Scotland ? Let's have a country for 4 people.

You also can't ask a newcomer to pay right away to play in private leagues or Utopia. Buzzerbeater is mostly a free game. You need to enjoy it for some times before being willing to pay for something. Since, the newcomer will be in a micronations dominated by 4 teams, they will quickly lose interest in the game and leave, then the next newcomer will also be faced with the same problem lacking other small teams to play against. Thus, never reaching B3 since there "are only about 4 teams that can actually compete" or the willingness to pay to become Supporter and play private leagues.

I understand your point but I think you misunderstood mine. I was saying that there are only 4 teams than can win the league the other teams are then competing against each other for the other play-off spots so they do have something to play for. A couple of the teams in the play-off positions this season are some of the newer players in Scotland. Scotland only gets a new player about 1 in every 4 months because basketball isn't that popular here.

I agree with you over the paying for stuff bit though so I'll take that out my argument.
