With the ridiculous economic system, they are the only way of the future. They're gonna start to cost a fortune. Even the cheaper salary ones cost a lot.

Yep I understand this, I think in this league especially te winner will have to run at a loss for quite some time. Last season I tried that and lost about a mil over the second half of the season and still lost the finals in straight sets so its all about rebuilding this season and maybe having a last minute crack if I think im a chance or save it this year and have a really big shot next season...

You don't always have to run at a loss. I won this league while still running at a profit of $30k per week. I think the mixture of having good young prospects whose salary you can keep low before filling the expensive cats, along with depth to manage game shape, and a strong starting 5 can get you the W.

Mind you, by the time i got out of III.6 I had an arena that held about 15,000 so that kind of helped too with the gate receipts. Generating revenue from ticket sales should be one of the primary goals of any manager early on. Along with developing young players that is. Then after a time you'll be generating plenty of income and be able to make big purchases without going under. I've gradually climbed to being a top 4 team in div II.2 using this method as well.

With that said, i add my condolences to those who've just unluckily found themselves in this division. The only thing worse could be in div II.2, which we like to call the toughest Div II in BB.

Yeah. My arena houses 16000 people but I made the mistake of adjusting the prices too high at the start of the season hence why I have horrible attendance and am losing 60k a week. In 2 weeks my prices will go back to being reasonable and i'll start making some money again I hope. -500k is when you have to sell off your players isn't it? If so i'll be cutting it close.

Yikes Leeroy! You're flirting with the 500k line already?
Yeah thats when you need to start selling. But each week you're below 0 you also get charged interest.

Best of luck to you this season man, I have my fingers crossed for you and possum facing off in an epic finals!

Boy I'm glad im not facing you this season, thats a scary looking roster with plenty of future considering they are all pretty young. I gotta start thinking about selling off my old farts soon.

I don't mean to be offensive (please forgive me if anyone thinks I am), but I reckon you got a good (slightly easy) run out of 3.6. It was the easiest season to do it in. Chasers tried to come back too early, I had just left, and Akuma was still building up for a blowout the following season.

You're probably right mate, but I actually made a few acquisitions that year to push myself from just making up the numbers in the playoffs to actually challenging.

Yeah there was no Goldfish, and many teams were positioning themselves for later runs, so I guess I just timed my run well. Mmmmmm gave me a good run as did PP but, yeah there wasn't the depth that there was in previous or subsequent years.

Nothing wrong with timing your run mate, that just makes you a willy manager. I'm doing the same thing this season, JBallers made a push for it last year as did PP, akuma and dragonZ. Most of them are rebuilding now and trying to save a little cash so this is definitely my season to win or burn out trying.

Div II or bust!

The depth was there just not put into players at that time. If anything, it was lucky but it was also good play, too.
