we all know that season 5 was a fluke guess with tactics and enthusiasm being reset.....
anyone with half a brain knows that's not the case this time.....

Hooray!

Yeah, sorry about that. I watched pretty much the whole game last night with another 7 or so people from Canada. Tough one to lose but it looks like the best team won.

Nice game shape update for me today. So what do I do? Try to win both my games this week? Just try to beat you? Just go after the Rockets? Tank both games?

My head is spinning at the moment.

I'm going to have to disagree with this statement.

I agree that the game ratings indicate you were the better team. But you should know by now that game ratings mean basically nothing... The match-up ratings were by far in NEP's favour, I think. I don't have time to look at it right now but that was my analysis after the game. I think the only reason it was close was the difference in effort.

Well, that and the fact that NEP hit just about every free throw and you were closer to 60%.

So after looking back at it and actually reading your post, the one thing that you didn't mention was your SG match-up. I think that is pretty much what lost the game for you (if you do not consider free throws). Maybe I am wrong, but my experience is that run and gun puts a lot of focus on your SG in terms of shot selection. Having a really crap match-up at SG really bogs your offense down.

Also, back to the match-ups. As I said, run and gun puts focus on your SG and to a lesser extent your PG and SF (I think usually SF is the least of the three, but it often depends on flow skills and match-ups, too). NEP won the match-up at SG by a significant margin. He lost the PG and SF match-ups, but not by as big a margin. But the biggest thing was he got the most shots from his best match-up, SG.

Diefenbach took the majority of the shots for NEP so I am not surprised he took the most FT shots. I am guessing experience was some factor in his %, I think you took a lot of fouls in overtime when the game was pretty much over.

Anyhow, I think the fact that Infanzón took 17 shots in a run and gun goes to show that your offense had some issues in this game finding the right match-ups.

By the way, a friend of mine crunched some numbers into some prediction thing on the USA NT site. Apparently is gives me a 20% chance of winning tonight and a 15% chance on Tuesday against the Rockets. That was pretty much enough for me to decide my strategy for these two games...

So what did I decide? Well, watch the games and find out. ;-)

Finally, I will agree with you that NEP was lucky to win against you on Thursday. In spite of my previous comments, I think that's pretty much what I said to him in the chat.

Ahh... I see 5 minutes into the game that a lucky fan has found his way to the floor.

Of course when I get an injury it has to happen at one of my training spots. That could mess up my plans for this week.

Good luck on Tuesday. You never know what's going to happen in BB.

Thanks. It seems clear that the Rockets will get my A-team but realistically I think I was in tough in both of these games. Hey - now I am starting to sound like the Jugglers. Pretty soon I'll be predicting that my team will finish 7th (they very easily could at this pace).

Abbott has been injured early on anyway. Hopefully, it's just for the game.

Looking at the NT page shows a 1 week injury, sorry. Thank goodness my guy is just out for the game.
