Dirk with legendary inside shot? I'd give him legendary Jump Shot, but he's really not that dominant as a dunker... his greatness stems from the huge mismatch his size creates in combination with his Jumper.

It is a matter of taste, I like Manute, a great defender and an exceptional shoot blocker , his death really touched me. but it remains that I prefer Dikembe "Not In My House"and his blocks on the greatest players .

I always appreciated smaller centers who had awesome shot-blocking abilities, like Big Ben Wallace and Alonzo Mourning, who based their blocks more on jumping and timing, rather than height. But I have to admit, Dikembe's "Not In My House" intimidated lots of players, making them think twice before driving to the basket. It also looked pretty funny to me, as well.

Manute Bol >> Mutombo (Shot blocking)

Manute average more than one block in every 5 minutes. Mutombo averaged 1 block in 11 minutes. So Manute like 2x better. And you know what people said - It's impossible to dunk on Manute, impossible.

I disagree
Manute Bol averages more blocks/minute because he basically did only this on the defensive field, and try the block everytime he can,so he block moire but fails more block than a player like Mutombo that use block as the final stage of his defence(and often avoid to his adversary to shoot)

well, but that would just mean that Manute had legendary shot blocking but no inside defense, while Mutombo had both, and I think one can make the case hat that was indeed true.

You see, it's hard because skills/things crosses with each other. Like Kevin Love. He may not the best rebounder, he just hustles too much. Sometimes he is not even box out just try to catch the ball. It helps him to increase his numbers, but it also helps to his matchups sometimes.
And like SB. You need to do several things out there. Play D, help D, move, box out...
But imagine such a drill, just shot blocking. Someone/something shooting the ball from different angles... Manute, Dikimbe try to block as much as possible. Manute would win this and thats why I think he is better shot blocker.

But to block the ball you need to be in the right position, and to be in the right position you need to have good defensive position.
However,it's matter of personal tastes, both were awesome shotblockers :D

If you don't have Dirk Nowitzki at Legendary Jump Shot, something is wrong with you.
