Something else (that I've proposed before) would be to attempt to ensure that new managers experience as much success as possible early on.
Currently, new managers are put into the highest possible league with openings (ostensibly to eliminate bot owners in these higher leagues). This makes success early on (something I believe to be crucial to retain owners) difficult - if you end up in that situation. Reversing this - having new managers start in the lowest available league for that nation - would give the owners early successes (even if it comes against bots), and that would help retention of new managers. Additionally, it's a more forgiving environment for them to learn, and develop their managerial chops before heading to tougher competition.
Just a thought...

There HAS to be something that can be done to improve substitutions - minutes played. Like assigning each player target minutes per game (0-5, 5-10, 10-15, etc.). I was called a "lazy" manager in the new Season 30 update for using blank lineups, but the truth is I didn't like using blank lineups. The only reason I did is because the amount of minutes starters play in the game is horrendous. Even my mediocre stamina PG played 40 minutes last night. Now I have to bench my two best players EVERY OTHER GAME just to keep their game shape up.

If there is not going to be anything done about this I have another suggestion. Any manager at any time is allowed to reduce the stamina for any player on his team for free. JUST reduce, not increase. For example, if I have a player that has Proficient stamina I can permanently reduce it to mediocre or inept, but once it is reduced the only way I can increase that players stamina is thru training. Sometimes you find the "perfect" player on the transfer list, but his stamina is prominent, proficient, or strong (a bad thing ONLY in buzzerbeater), and you know you will never get the most out of that player because either A: you play him every game and he's only half as productive as he should be because of sub-par game shape, B: you play him every other game to keep game shape high, or C: bring him off the bench. None of these are realistic options.

This is a great game and sure there are many small things that can be improved here and there, but to me this is a GLARING weakness of the game.

I agree with your sentiment about the substitutions patterns and the high nbr of minutes its caused starters.to get.

I fear it will heavily favour those who just train gameshape which sadly is one way around the problem.

overall im saddened that their has been no announcement on an "app" and other improvements that were put forward in this thread.

The one positive is that the "problem" of high minutes for starters is equally lumbered on all and I guess there is a challenge to restructure a roster to suit this change in the game.

Sadly I think its just going to give those who train game shape a huge advantage

You can ask on Wednesday Sid. I think people need to start understanding how to use Coach Pick from Dept Chart. Everybody knows it's harder to manage minutes without blanks, but I did manage to have 11 players on proficient GS in the finals in S28 without using GS training and without ever using blanks (never used blank/LCD on my main team in 6 seasons; l used it twice in Utopia, on time being my first game). I've always used CPfDC and it's possible to manage minutes with it. Better teams still have a substantial advantage due to more Garbage Time.

That said, I very much agree that they should give us more control over the sub patterns under All Star complexity tactics.

Poll: What should be the biggest (most immediate) priority for the use of resources, that will have the most positive impact on this great game?

With regard to the choices listed, I choose "None of the Above."

Training needs to be overhauled above all other things, imo. Smaller changes in other things can go on meanwhile, but the most important focus should be a simple, logical system of training.

Ok if you have the time to start a new poll, I'd like to see what the sentiment is now.

They gave people more flexibility on training which is nice despite selected individual(s) campaigning more and more vehemently for more changes, they removed blanks and it's pretty clear there is no plan for an app yet.

I'm pretty sure that if you redo the poll, subs flexibility and control will come in second after the app, perhaps even contending for first.

I wouldn't open the "lack of realism" door...besides the lack of realism in this case is not the offense, but the fact that defensive tactics are not flexible enough to cope, thus creating a massive mismatch.
