Off the top, gotta say Dwayne Wade at #1. He's a leader, got great perimeter defense, can go inside both offensively and defensively, can rebound, and is the best Shot Blocking Guard in the game. Also, he can play anywhere from the 1-3 spots, and if you want to go stupid fast could even set him as a 4 for those situations (though not for a game or anything like that). Hits his Free Throws. His only weakness is Lebron James being on the team.
#2. At this moment, it seems to be Dirk Nowitzki. Some people don't like him, but he's a winner. To be considered a top scorer, he has shown that even when missing he can contribute with the Assists and Rebounds. He shot like 30% for one game in the finals, still hit the game winner and still got his team mates involved and grabbed the boards. Peoples biggest knock on him is his Defense. Did you see the Finals? Blocks, Steals. Usually on Help Defense or when a guy drives right at him (he was great with that quick swipe all through out the play offs). And with his height and reach he does well enough in M2M on his mark. Name the last person to drop 30 on Dirk. 25? 20? I'm sure the list is much smaller than most think. Also, he didn't need 'stars' to help complete his game, the biggest move was getting him his C, which most people wouldn't have on their Top 15 C list. Nash is amazing, but not in his prime. Really, name another Current AS on that team. Dirk did more with less, like DWade did when he won his ring.
#3. I hate this with every fiber of my sould. Kobe Bryant. The man just knows how to win. He's fairly clutch, the percentage lower than you would think but you can't make shots you don't take. He could take a page from Jordan's book where you CAN take the last shot, but you don't have to. Yeah, the shot on Craig Ehlo will never be forgotten (vs. Cleveland) but neither will finding Paxson, Kerr or Armstrong.
#4. Lebron James. Still needs some work, but it's mostly decision making and ego in the way. Kobe is above him because Kobe, like Jordan, knows how to win. Also, Lebron has to learn the same thing Kobe hasn't learned... that just because a guy doesn't make $50,000,000 a season doesn't mean he can't win the game for you. In both Cleveland and Miami Lebron had guys that could have made the last shot... if he'd given up the ball. For 4 Quarters he is a good passer, he just loses that 'team mentality' when it's crunch time. Case in point, when he hit Dwayne Wade about 2 steps in front of the Half Court for a Miricle Shot (that missed), when he had the only guy to hit a basket, much less a 3, open on the Left Wing. Instead of hitting the open guy at the 3 Point Line, who had just got you out of a 6 Minute slump, he hit a Star... at the HC Line. No chance for the win, big mistake that may have cost them the Series.
#5. Derrick Rose. You just can't guard him, and his Defense is solid. He can rebound well for his position. He needs some seasoning, mostly to figure out how to make those around him better. He's going to be more of an Allen Iverson, though AI was more explosive in his prime where Steals/Fast Break was concerned. He's fierce and doesn't back down.
#6. Kevin Durant. This early in his young career and he already understands things like floor spacing, getting others involved, and taking over when it matters. He's a mismatch no matter who is guarding him. He does need to learn some Back-to-the-Basket moves so he can really drill the shorter guys, his game isn't complete yet. Even MJ, at 6'6", understood the importance of backing down your man. Ditto for Charles Barkley, who stood 6'4" (Listed 6'6", but look at him standing next to Jordan in any picture). KD has no reason to NOT get 5 Back Down shots a game. In a few seasons, if he rounds out that Offense and plays great Help Defense (ala a more explosive Dirk style) he'll really come into his own.
#7. Chris Paul. Isn't playing his game, needs some help to see
