The blow out rule should probably be looked at as well as the last minute. These were both changes to make the game more accuratley reflect the NBA but the system used for keeping track of who is seeded top is not. Perhaps endgame stuff such as fouling when down and sitting the starters at a certain point should be added to the tactical page rather than being a default setting. It would make it so if it backfired one way or the other the only person you had to blame was yourself.

Something that would be fun in my opinion is in case of a tie at the end of the season, an arcade style playoff on neutral courts would be a blast. I can't imagine it would be impossible to code in and if a week of either NT or U21 matches had to be postponed I would think the excitement it would generate every season would be worth it.

I like this idea, although simply changing the Tie-Breaker rules to Head-to-Head would be sufficient. It would even make some regular season games more important, knowing that you may need to win to ensure a playoff spot against someone with a similar record.

Well, since I seemed to have started a sh#$ storm by throwing the game against ICE, I thought I should explain to you why I did it, and you can explain why my thinking is wrong.

1. I am the worst team in the NBBA stats wise as someone pointed out at the start of this season. I have managed to get into 4 place by scouting, managing game shape (except CARLOS because I can't figure out how to train small forwards), and enthus. I knew I would lose to ICE because I can't match up with his team--I did scout him. I decided to go for the cup win instead. I will be able to TIE tomorrow for more enthus and play my next home game for the win. Also, I was able to get 48 minutes for training for two of my players.

2. I am concentrating on staying in the cup as long as possible--that means that I will sacrifice league games that I can't possibly win to stay in the cup where I usually face inferior or more equal opponents. Enthus from TIED games helps a lot here.

3. I need training minutes. If the choice is to throw a game that I really have no chance of winning to get those minutes, then that's what I will do.

4. I think game shape plays a huge role in winning. The only reason I even promoted in Hobo's screwed up his game shape. I TIED at his place then played two CT to win. His players were better but mine were in better game shape.

All in all, I think I have a decent strategy and I have a good chance of not demoting. I welcome feedback to this approach if anyone has better ideas.

Just say no to bitchassedness!

The Bulls have a way of aggravating alot of people and people seem to think they have a better shot of beating him either home or away, hence less punting and a lower point differential.

I like to think that I entertain a lot of people, while aggravating a few. It's a trade off I'm willing to make.

And I don't think your example has ever really come up in League play (besides maybe you and DFC for all I know). It has however come up in Cup play, when I visit an opponents forum and all of a sudden they want to take down the big dog. I seem to remember this being the case when you were a little(r) puppy.

Do you realize there's a (very small) chance that we'll play each other 3 times next week?

Huh. I figured it was because of my exceedingly good looks.

Heh, didn't realize that.

It's a shame we're not in the same PL. :)

(Good luck tonight!)

i thought the majority of my games last season were winnable.

what i wasnt expecting (and where i thought i scored a lucky scheduling break over Myopic) was facing the full might of Ice Storm in the last round after he had already wrapped up playoff home court.
