Welcome!

Canada comfortably into the next round at worlds! With USA handling Singapore easily we were already in, but we managed to defeat Senegal 99-67 (38287) to be able to party in style tonight. Both games were TIE vs CRU.

This is the first time Canada U21 has made it to the second round of worlds. Congrats U21 trainers!!!

We had some mixed results playing push the ball today. Our PFCs went a combined 25 for 40 from the field. Our guards struggled a bit more, but that might have had more to do with the effort imbalance than the JS/OD difference between the offense and defense.

Beaulieu and Bailey got in with over a minute left to receive their first caps in their careers.

Game MVP: Girouard 25 pts (9/24, 3/8, 4/6), 11 reb, 3 ast, 2 stl, 3 blk (despite a late game 0/6 streak)
Game LVP: Cotterell 2 pts (0/8, 0/5, 2/4) !!! He did have 5 reb, 5 ast, 5 stl to go with his 5 fouls and 5 missed 3s! Strange to say the least.

Later today we'll find out the schedule for the next group. This is an 8 team round robin with results from advancing teams in the first group carrying over. Unfortunately that means we will bring an 0-3 record forward, but we'll be fighting tooth and nail to scrape out even one or two wins. The top 4 teams advance to the semis.

Congrats also go out to Brasil for dispatching China in a must win game to make the second round. Surely we will enjoy a spirited game against our yearly nemesis in the weeks to come!

GO CANADA

We take on Spain in 15 minutes. Most likely a loss, but who knows, surprises can happen in BB once in awhile.

We likely need to go 3-0 or 2-1 in our last 3 games, which are all against top 4 teams in the group. Backs against the wall!

ps I haven't been active the last couple weeks due to increased training for Spartan Montreal, which was Sat/Sun this weekend. It went well and now back to BB! Hope everyone had a great long weekend.

Spain clobbered Serbia and Hungry with look inside, even with them guessing inside.

They have opted for base offense against us. A strange call, as often that choice does not get the best out of your team.

So, 2 wrong GDP for us, but we are using more effort in order to try and steal a win. Join in chat if you wish!

One good quarter is not enough out of four, and Spain hands us another loss. With the other results we are likely eliminated at this stage, but we will still try to pull out some wins to end the season. Just not enough scoring to keep up with the biggest teams of the world, and too many tries from our guards against high OD.

With the loss today vs. Greece we are out! They have a great team for sure using less effort. We finish next week vs. Spain and then the roster dump. Successful season winning 2 games at worlds. Was a good ride. Thanks managers.
