I'm almost even. I invested 1.2 mio in the arena and have already earned 1 mio. with the ticket sales. Currently I'm not sure what to build next. My biggest concern is that I'm under the salary floor and the 16 weeks are almost over. So before building some new seats I have to buy 1-2 new players.

I'm in mostly the same situation, except I held off on investing an extra week or so recently because I had already overbuilt my current pricing, so my total investment is now 1.176M. Luckily I'm still over the salary floor, and thanks to an unexpected rivalry/TV win on the road the other day, I may pull in even more than expected. The goal is just to keep making the playoffs, keep building non-bleachers, and then see how things go.

Your goal doesn't including training long term players? A little confused why you wouldn't.

Well, that's not part of the goal with regard to the arena (though I half think I may aim to have more lower tiers than bleachers at some point just because that would give immense giggles).

As far as training goals, I suppose it comes down to how we're going to define long-term players.

Players that could be on your roster for 10+ seasons and help carry you through to D1?

That would be amazing. A pity that season ticket holders for D1 tops out at just over 4,000. This guy in USA D1 has the most I've ever seen. (http://www.buzzerbeater.com/team/23816/arena.aspx)

If that's how we define longterm players, I do kind of have those. I hate them all, of course, but I imagine at least three of them will be playing regularly for me in 10 seasons time. It's just different for me this time since I'm doing so much 1v1 to start with rather than buttloads of pressure, but I figured I'd try to do *something* different.

I think a 4600 - 5000 - 500 - XX arena would probably be horribly inefficient but it might be fun enough to do that I'll go for it. It's certainly exceptionally cheap to pile on bleachers after I reach that point if I decide to. If nothing else, it'll be an interesting data point.

Absolutely. I'm guessing D2 would be the breaking point for the bleachers? You'd probably sell out every time at $20.

Whatever works. I'm torn between trying random weird training now, in D4, where it'd be easier to win while doing it...or just trying to make my team better as quickly as possible.

I spent 1.245 million on mine.
Won a single game last season. Moved from 1200 ranked to 800s now.
Can not look too much at average attendance. Will work its self out in a few seasons. Those who spent all their cash to promote will find they can't build a arena big enough in some cases. Be interesting to see how it all works out long term.

I am not so sure. The teams who play decent in Div III. get a lot of of money. Ofc the salary might be high though.
I guess both promoting and tanking could be valid tactics longterm.

I'm sitting nicely at the moment.

Yes i bought players last season to promote, and this season in DIV 3, i am still in the cup, sitting 1st in my conference and in 1 day my arena will have 6097 seats.

Im hoping to have around 7500-8000 in my arena by seasons end.

so it can be done.

Teams who trade players and earn money that way (not just selling their draft) have no real place in my research.
So your team isn't really an example that "it" can be done.
This strategy requires endurance and luck but no really franchise leading skills, as there is (most likely not your case) cheating potential.
Getting a full crowd without spending too much money is the real deal. (my2cents)
