It is my honor to announce this seasons Hall of Fame Nominees.

They are as follows:

Jean-Paul Laviolette(373520)

Geoff Abbott (4472574)

Téo Saint-Arnaud (6676028)

Gary Milot (6675490)

This whole thread is a little silly and pointless. Since when do you put 26 year old players in the hall of fame? If you want to nominate a Canadian 'player of the year' award, then that's fine, since that appears to be what this award is about. Can you imagine the NBA nominating Chris Paul for the hall of fame? That's essentially what you're doing here.

My vote is not to vote for anyone if you don't have any deserving candidates who have finished their basketball careers.

The problem is that there are no notable players who are retired in BB and probably won't be for 4-6 more seasons.

Even a guy like Romero who first played for the NT in season 3, was the world's best around that time and played his first game at the end of season 1 is now only 31 and still contributing to a solid (ahem) division II team.

To suggest that its "player of the year" is also wrong since Gary Milot is no where close to be the current best player in Canada and hasn't been a real NT contributor in almost two seasons.

The purpose of the award (at least as far as I see it) is to encourage discussion on the forums and to try to inform newer managers about the short, fictitious history of Canadian Buzzer beater.

And let's be honest: literally everything about this game is more than a little silly and pointless

Honesty your post is not only silly but is also pointless. "Hall of Fame" might be the wrong term, but as Chris said this is intended to encourage discussion about Canadian players

Can you imagine the NBA nominating Chris Paul for the hall of fame? That's essentially what you're doing here.

Can you imagine the NBA only playing games on Saturday and Tuesday or letting teams scrimmage every Thursday just to try a new offence. Can you imagine Chris Paul getting benched once a week to allow an 6'10 atrocious player learn how to pass? Clearly this is not the NBA and should not be compared to it in any way shape or form.

My vote is not to vote for anyone if you don't have any deserving candidates who have finished their basketball careers

My vote is that rather then tearing down what other managers are doing to help the game, you find something that you like and try to make it better. I guess the quote "If you want to complain about something you better be prepared to make it better" comes to mind. The Canadian community would be happy to have you help make our forums more active and enjoyable so feel free to get involved.
