Hallo iedereen,

Deze keer staan we er… de selectie van de spelers staat op punt en we kunnen eindelijk onze ploegsterkte inschatten in vergelijking met onze tegenstrevers.
De eerste vaststelling is dat we nog een lange weg moeten afleggen. Als men vaststelt dat een land als Hongarije 5 centers kan opstellen met meer dan 50k aan salaris, terwijl onze selectie slechts 2 spelers telt van rond de 30k… dan beseffen we maar al te goed dat de competitie niet gemakkelijk zal zijn. De meeste landen zijn sterker dan wij; tactisch spel is onze enige hoop en uitweg. Ik hoop een vierde plaats te bemachtigen na de ongenaakbare Hongaren, Italianen en Lithouwers.

We mogen immers niet vergeten dat we met 2 jaar achterstand op vele landen starten en we maar met een 480 managers zijn… waarvan dan ook nog maar een beperkt aantal echt actief spelen. Het zal dan ook niet dit seizoen zijn waar we resultaten kunnen verwachten, maar binnen een 2 à 3-tal seizoenen, wanneer onze beloftevolle jeugd zal uitgegroeid zijn en zich zal kunnen meten met andere grote landen.

Ik wil me ook excuseren bij die managers die niet het geluk hebben om één van hun spelers uitverkoren te zien voor de U-21; ik wil ze bedanken om met ons te hebben samengewerkt in onze zoektocht en moedig ze aan om verder hun speler te trainen! Samen met de managers van 18-, 19- en 20-jarigen zullen we verder samen werken om het niveau van onze Belgische U-21 ploeg op te krikken.

Wat dan het OTYBP (Organisation for the Training of Young Belgian Players) betreft: hier verloopt alles volgens plan. De interessante spelers werden opgespoord en genoteerd; in de eerstvolgende 72u zullen de managers van die spelers door de betreffende verantwoordelijken gecontacteerd worden om een solide, betrouwbaar en productief trainingsplan uit te werken. ja hoor... ik was bijzonder aangenaam verrast door de prestaties van ons team! Als men de lonen van die Lithouwse spelers eventjes bekeek, dan had ik wel een afstraffing verwacht! Maar integendeel, een goeie tactiek van onze coach deed die mannen wel serieus bibberen!

schitterende prestatie Sum! ik heb genoten van die match!

I must say that I"m very proud to my team... -6 against one of the favourite in this competition is amazing and very encouraging for the future :)

do not get blinded by salaries too much.
especially when they reach high amounts this mostly points to 1 sided trained players.

a 30k player can be more valuable in the field then a 50 k player, given the 30 k player is realy well rounded and using the right tactics, while the 50k player just has his main skills and nothing else...

Yes it's sure and I know it, but yesterday they take 19 offensive rebounds against 7... give me a center with only rebound and 50k for his salary it's not the same match because 19 offensive rebounds for them and we lose for 6 points ... all is says.

yes, but we also missed 7 free throws on 19. Not disastrous, but still it makes a few points diffrence. Probably not enough anyway.

their FT% is even worse, and you can bet they will loose some of their games to it..

it will always be for some reason. It's an endless discution. One can't train all at once. ;)

But we set a prety nice result, which is promising for the future. I have good faith that we will improve quickly.

I'm disapointing because we've loss this game against a country which is normaly stronger than us but this time there is 2 factors to explain it ...

1) My tactical choice ... mea culpa. When I saw this team I was thinking that he played outside at his first match to make a diversion but he has done this twice ^^.
I was surprised by this and it's strange that with my "motion" Lecomte didn't take a lot of jump shoot ... like De Groote :D.

2) the "GAME SHAPE" of 5 players is AWFUL !!! and in those 5 players 4 are Sf and the other is my second center .... what do you want to do with only 10 players... I had contact all the manager to told them that it' was very important but if they don't listen to me ...
It' only the begining of our U-21's adventure so I'm always confident and over-motivated, in 2-3 seasons with the work of the OTYBP we'll be very competitive :)
