Although it would be hard as a new team to get 4 or 5 trainees that are 18 and minimum 4-4.5k salary and AllStar potential as minimums.

I would suggest you find the best 5-18 year old trainees you can find with Starter or 6th Man being the minimum as they come much cheaper. With 2 position training and a Level 4 trainer you could still make them very solid D4/D5 type players even with the 6th man/Starter potential. And then when you are ready to upgrade you can sell the guys with the lower potential for big profits and buy even better young players with your 2nd wave of trainees. Just my 2 cents...

What?
You trained a star potential player to his cap and you had to fire him because nobody bought him?!? Do you still have his skillset?
Unless you train him absolutely wrong, such a player will always find a buyer...

We have both said a lot of things that you are going to regret.

Ok, that's something else.

Well even if you can train a player just to 20'000 salary, that's perfectly enough for a third or fourth league. If it's a starter or a backup, that depends on the actual league and your roster but I don't think he'll be too bad a backup for 95% of the 3rd league teams.
