i think i actually won a bidding war like that, server lagged, no one bid against me, and i had the player after 10 minutes. Obviously i cant complain but its a problem on the other end, the person bidding against me.

sometimes the servers are laggy, and they need time to transfer the player to your rooster, when below the player stands "the auction is ended" and you have the highest bid you get him even when it could take a while.
