Nice. Okay, Skhookz, your take on Hird? Not the player, the coach. No-one who knows footy would argue how awesome Hird was as a player. But what about coaching? The future for the Bombers?

still not sure on Jimmy.. i think there have been some good signs, but also the consistency has killed us.. we can knock over a top 4 team 1 week, then lose to richmond the next.. i think the best thing about Hird, is he doesnt think he knows it all, and has a nice dual premiership coach in his corner to help him out. :D

i think we are still a couple of years away from competing.. keep developing the kids..

he has made some hard calls letting some players go, and i really really like that..

Good call. I'm a bit of a Sheedy fan. What are your thoughts on his new ventures and on leaving the Bombers behind?

That's right, saw a doc recentlly on a charity bike ride that went through Gisborne and thought of your team and made the link then to Melbourne as they referred to the MCG. Ah, a few more beers and it'll all come good.


what would you know we made it into a documentary.

oh and i know what you are saying about north melbourne. they may play to the final siren but they drag opposition teams into playing the shit brand of footy that they play. can't stand it. not to mention the dogs always seem to lose to the useless pricks

after 28 years, i think he had run his race.. i luv him.. i grew up in the 80s when we were winning flags.. but i think in the end the game just went ahead of him.. i think they made the right call for a new man to head up the team, but the appointment was questionable.

as for GWS - i think he will struggle. been out of the caper to long, and was past it when he left the bombers. signing scully and those dodgy knees to that contract is gonna come back and bite em in the ass....

i feel like we were very stiff not to at least make a Grand Final in the last 5 years.

i also feel very robbed by Nick Reiwoldt and his so called 'captains performance' (oscar winning acting) in that prelim final

YEah, I agree. This is slightly off track, but I remember a game some 15 years or so ago when the Doggies lead by 7 goals at half time agaisnt the Eageles. I was at a pub and remember it for two reasons. 1. I was looking forward to the Eagles getting beaten (yes, even before the Dockers arrived I didn't like the Eagles...I was a Crows fan) and 2. The second ahls was amazing. It was as if the two teams went into the locker rooms and switched jumpers. The Eagles came out and did to the Doggies what the Doggies had done to them. The Eagles won that game. One of the strangest game sI'd seen in terms of teams turning on and off. Anyway, I still think the Doggies are in the hunt but wonder if the premiership window has closed for now.

i remember a game. it must be 6 or so years ago now. in one of the years when the eagles made the GF. i was going to go to the footy to watch the dogs play the top of the table eagles, however it was my birthday gathering that day so was stuck to watch it on TV. and we pumped them. scoring like 140. was very disappointed not to be there

although i also remember last year where kennedy kicked 10 and we lost by tooo god damn much!
