I won't elaborate on that, I saw this happen in another (now out of business) game - it won't work here either.

Hi,

Simply too much posting for me to finish reading all, so pardon me if I repeat what have been mentioned before.

Personally I am not in favor of micro-nation/merger but everyone will have their own views and you won't be able to satisfy everyone. Why not let each nation vote if they want a merger or not. Then for countries who want merger.. you can group them accordingly to language, culture and region. For countries which prefer to maintain their own nation, they can be left alone, status quo..

The idea is to increase competitiveness. If I were a new user in a community of less than 40-50 managers I would probably get very bored quite quickly. Even in Romania, where we have ~160 users, some third leagues have 1-3 active managers, is it really worth to do anything else than tank/farm in those conditions?

Thank“s for answering:

3 Questions:

With 160 user you still have bots in league III, right? Don“t you think you will also have bots in league V. with more users?

Is it truth that for most of the users in BB really the competitiveness is the main problem? If yes, than I would say "OK, let“s have a change" .... if not, than "Maybe we should solve the real problems"

If you want to solve the finacial problem: it starts with Utopia, Micro Nations were in BB long before Utopia starts ;-)

1. Of course, but wouldn't it be fun to sustain a second and third league to be fairly competitive? And furthermore, I would gladly and open heartedly welcome any other similar country, or even move to a neutral system with different countries to diversify and increase competitiveness.
You guys are currently 54. You currently have 5 active leagues(i didn't check but I assume all 5 leagues have at least one human, I may be wrong). 5 leagues times 16 spots means room for 80 users, in the second leagues you have 64 spots out of which you are currently filling only 38, which is roughly 60%. Can you actually speak in the name of all other members of you community in saying that this could not be any more fun and competitive?

2. Yes, it is. Financial issue is something temporary, this is not why we lost tens of thousands of users. Real problems are that this is a long term game, and if the prize isn't worth it, tanking and farming will just simply not attract that many people.

3. That wasn't really a question, but since we are on the subject, do you think it;s fair for the many many people in macro nations to barely make it by with their cash, while the people in micronations are just sitting doing nothing first, second, and third leagues making cash like it was nothing? How about the BBs offer us a statistic of money per manager in micro and macro nation so we can have actual numbers.

As for us, we are 160, and yes that is very few, and yes it would be a lot more fun to be 500 or so. And yes, I know for a fact, our third leagues are boring and uncompetitive. And even with our third league incomes I know managers just tanking and farming. It wasn't like this when we had 4 leagues, it was a big deal to promote and it wasn't so easy to build a team. It was a lot more realistic.

Being a bit late to this thread I have skimmed a few pages of it and the general opinion is that most people don't want to lose their national identity but would like to see national teams compete more. I proposed something at the start of Utopia that had a small discussion in the suggestion forums ((258150.1)). The outline of the argument was this:

1) Scrap Utopia as a nationality and make the draftees come from real nations. They all get random names and I'm assuming the names will be linked to certain nationalities so why not assign them to that country.

2) Seed the draftees so that more come from low ranked nations to help the smaller countries have a chance. For example 1/6 are from the top 30, 2/6 are from 31 to 60 and 3/6 from the rest.

This will solve two problems; the lack of competitiveness of micro-nation national teams and the fact no one cares about Utopian draftees. For the lack of competitve leagues in micro-nations they would still have B3, private leagues and Utopia to keep them busy. In the Scottish league there are only about 4 teams that can actually compete with each other so the matches become a more personal affair and I enjoy it a lot.

nice ideas .... I like them all ;-)

Knecht & Joey Ka: Yes I think you are right. Maybe I put to much emphasis on the unequal opportunity to train players in the first league. Some NT might be weaker, but this is just how it is if you are a smaller country I guess. And as you mentioned. You can do something to prevent it and even train NT players in the second div.

While this is a great idea, it won't solve the problems of economic inbalance and lack of competitiveness in small leagues. And those are the main reasons for a merge.

No, of course ..... but I always say "If you really want to know it, you have to ask everybody" ... and not everybody feels comfortable discussing in english ;-)

So, I personally think: more competitive? yes! .... less communication? yes!... at least more Users in BB? No!

2. Yes, it is. Financial issue is something temporary, this is not why we lost tens of thousands of users. Real problems are that this is a long term game, and if the prize isn't worth it, tanking and farming will just simply not attract that many people.

your own words: "Can you actually speak in the name of all other members of you community?

just assumtions ... nothing more ..... for me it seems like Micro Nations have to blame for anything bad in BB .... but you are right: without hard facts talking about these problem isn“t very serious ;-)
