I would like to have seen potential be hidden until the player has been put on the Transfer List.

How do you guys rate the box score? Would you pick a 4 star with a great box score over a 5 star with a crappy box score?

I am comparing this guy, who has 4 stars:

Player 14 Power Forward
Boxscore MIN FG 3FG FT OR TR AST TO STL BLK PF PTS
29 10 - 12 2 - 2 4 - 7 2 7 5 2 1 3 4 26

to these two guys, who have 5 stars:

Player 15 Center
Boxscore MIN FG 3FG FT OR TR AST TO STL BLK PF PTS
27 4 - 9 1 - 1 2 - 2 2 7 1 1 1 3 1 11
*
Player 4 Center
Boxscore MIN FG 3FG FT OR TR AST TO STL BLK PF PTS
20 1 - 3 0 - 0 0 - 0 1 3 3 2 1 2 0 2
*

now this is the fun part of the draft.
YOU get to choose that entirely for yourself!
And maybe it doesn't even matter how you sort them, you might get the same player of them no matter how you sort, or none of them, depending on how the other teams sorted...
:)

You got to love the draft!

Oh, to answer the question: I'd go for the five star... any of the two. ;)

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.

High % of BLK
I can see stats from 27 players in the draft. Only 2 of them have zero BLK. The rest have from 1 to 4, and total for 25 players == 42 BLK (average == 1.7 in 31 min). My players have an average == 0.3.

Older than the rest ...

If a player has a star rating of 4 but no grade / potential . . .

Is that better than a player with a star rating of 3 with 2 in potential?

I would think so, or rather hope for you that it is so? 2 in potential is really low!

There are more 4s and 5s than 1s and 2s, so the mean of the unknown players is probably somewhere between 3 and 4.

On the other hahd, if you have a lot of very active and competitive teams in your league, any 4's they know about, but who are unknowns to you, will be up towards the top of their lists, and won't be left for you to pull at random. And any 1's will be at the bottoms of your list. So while the unknowns for you should have the same distribution, the ones available to you in the draft will tend to be lower.

These players will probably be your #3 pick. Now that we have a lot of established teams, we may be at the stage where we can only absorb 1 or 2 draftee per team, replacing an older player or someone past prime training. A 3 might not be good enough to cut it. So you still might be better off going totally blind and getting a 4 for your 3rd pick.
