S17 - SBBL - Jaguarless, Singapore Showstoppers beat Jaguar at home 113-104.

Sometimes myth just works, no matter how realistic the result can be predicted.

Pedro Pineda & Alfredo Coutinho each scored 25pts, to hand Pekanbaru Jaguars their first home loss 113-104. Jaguars only trailed 4 points coming to 4th quarter, but Pineda started to hot again, countering basket each time Jaguar make a run, resulted in 38-32 4th quarter points for Showstoppers. Reserve Ong Yi Ying scored 12pts in only 16minutes played. Noel Lima scored only 11 but grabbed 22 rebounds.

Jaguars sit trio Huo Xiangsong, Petrus-A and Kupila at bench for most of 4th quarter, and trying to compete the game with only Veteran Seki Skrebo and Zhong Xuanwen. Skrebo has 23pts 5asts and 8rebs, but age has took him past his prime, as Ong Yi Ying easily score baskets on him. Zhong Xuanwen has 20pts and Kupila scored 18.

With the win, Singapore Showstoppers has beaten Jaguars for three straight season league game.

EBC, Cheesecake and Shwe Toe Ngal dethroned three SBBL Kings

Less luck for some upper team, as Shwe Toe Ngal beat Eric United 117-106 behind Jakub Ejankowski 30pts 16rebs and Celso Valente 27pts 7asts. Eric's elegant PG Augusto Gomez were held to 5/18 FG for 14pts.

At Cheesecake arena, Shohoku Backers suffered their 2nd straight loss after 6 straight win, surrendered to Cheesecake 84-104. Cheesecake stingy defense and bigman strength was really immune to Shohoku Backers inside play, forced Sertug Acay & Cataldo Momente take some outside shots. Momente has 28pts and Acay 22pts. Cheesecake were led by Vincent Katic with 43pts. Turkey's Tümay Öztoygar was the reason Cheesecake won, with his strong D and 17rebounds.

Meanwhile, unfortunately for SLZH, also suffered their first home loss to redhot Esplanade BC 80-94. SLZH started the game like a team that ready to dominate, speed up for 28-11 first quarter, but slowly EBC crawled their way to 65-69 after 3rd quarter end. And at 4th, unexpected collapse happened on SLZH team, as they allow EBC to have a wild run 29-11 on 4th quarter to an astonished finish 94-80. Six ESP players scored more than 10pts. Romeo Laigre led SLZH with 28pts.

Cheesecake is under-rated in the league. His team is well-balanced, so credit to him.
Think I will suffer straight losses from here onwards.

Anyway I had a glance at our SGP forum. Quite active with the div.ii teams there although they seems easily provoked.
