Well, I would have put my team as one of the better Div III teams (not one of the top, mind you), but I will now be firmly ensconced in Div III next year. My best player just went down with a three friggin' week injury. Three weeks, wtf. He's not just marginally my best player, but far and away my best player as in, no one in my league can guard him. Groan.
It really hurts because I didn't have to play him in today's scrimmage - he was just a back-up to get a couple more minutes!

shouldn't have spent 4 mill on that trainee
i mean he'll be amazing and all but you're not going to be able to support his salary and field a full competitive team around him once he's developed

Well, he definitely won't be able to if he's still down in div III, but by the time he reaches a high salary, he should be at least in div II. He will be well rounded too, so he'll actually be worth his salary and he will dominate. It may not be the BEST choice, considering he spent so much on him, but to some people developing a dominant player is just as much fun as advancing through the leagues.

Pretty much what Griffin said.
When I went all in for Denny Hall I had a couple million in the bank but not enough to get him. I barely lost in my finals last year (4th quarter comeback by the other guy in game three) despite gutting my team. If I had kept things intact and bought another player or two, I probably would've been in Div II this year.
I'll get to Div II, although now it probably won't be this season-there are some excellent Div III teams in my league. That's going to hurt the bottom-line for sure. However, there aren't going to be many players as good or as well-rounded as Denny Hall by the time I'm through with him. He will be a beast.
