The Warriors are not paying Durant when he's injured, insurance does. So if doctors are no insurance against injuries then let me pay a premium for not paying 200k salary to NT players when they go down and I might just do it. The 250k cost of carry including missed merchandising (probably more actually) is more unrealistic than injuries.
And while we are at it then, how about getting a free random player like the ones assigned to new teams if one of your designated starters go down? Teams in the real world can always pick up free agents from the waivers NBA also has two-way and non guaranteed contracts so if you want to go down the way of making longer injuries then I want some flexibility in picking up scrubs to fill the roster other than the TL.
and yes, 3 week injury with a lvl 7 doctor is a big no-no. Of the 13 3 week injured players right now, 1 had a lvl 2 doctor, 1 had a lvl 3 and 1 had a lvl 4, the rest all had lvl 1. The player I linked above makes no sense whatsoever, but I have not seen a 5 week injury in a long long time. To me lvl 1 doctors should have higher chance of injury AND longer periods. 5 weeks was about right as a cap as the player would miss about half of the regular season including rehab, but not for higher level doctors.
