Round 4

Malaysia U21 vs. Australia U21 77 - 101 (19880)

Another great learning game for us as a team, playing against our next biggest challenge in our draft pool in Malaysia. We tried our hand at Look Inside with some great success, V.V and Scoggins showed why they were selected in this season U21 squad. I'd like to make an honorable mention for Will Johnson who played his first game outside the SF position showing his diversity making 9 assists from the Shooting Guard position and keeping his man to 2-15 shooting from the field! However this game was all about efficiency on both ends of the floor so without further a do I'd like to present the game ball to the man who lives by alliteration.... V.V! This fiend shot 83% from the floor, hit all of his free throws racking up 24 points and 10 rebounds (and 2 TO but that's forgiven), add to this his prowess on the defensive end keeping his opposing starting PF to 5-12 shooting for another great performance. Congratulations again to him and his manager Ljuboo of Red Star Baywater.

Round 5

Australia U21 vs. Kazakhstan U21 107 - 105 (19883)

Dear god was this one close! Luckiest win I think we've had all season.. A very underestimated team by the looks of things but we were lucky enough to come away with the win. I've since learned that base offense isn't effective in league OR on a representative level so we won't have to worry about that again. As for the honors of this game it was quite a difficult decision for such a close game...

4 0:20 105 — 102 W. Johnson (A) gets off a great pass to J. Dogan (A). J. Dogan (A) forces up a three from the top of the arc. Scored.

4 0:02 106 — 105 B. Zholdasov (H) forces up a three from the top of the arc, guarded closely by J. Dogan (A). Scored.

Here Dogan gets the shot to put us up by 3 points with 20 seconds left on the clock, but later gets one dropped right in his face with 2 seconds remaining. Add to that he had a sub-par shooting night so I'm happy to announce that our Game Ball winner is.... Aandarasan Gunasekar

Gunasekar had a solid performance this game shooting 60% for 22 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and had to guard their top scorer keeping him to less than 30% from the field. Congratulations to Aandarasan and his manager Cavdam from the North Carlton Cavaliers, obviously their Basketball team is better than their AFL team.

On a side-note, AFL sucks.

I agree, Ezy.

@ Leeroy, thanks...I think...

In fact, I was so annoyed with Dogan's performance I put him on the transfer market 5 minutes ago! He can't pass, so why keep him.

of course I didn't really put him up. lol Maybe I should; he's been disappointing

It's a shame that his fellow team mate, a player that cannot be named (a player whose weekly psyche appointments have yielded no answers on how to put the ball through the farking hoop) and who is currently on suicide watch after yet another horrid game! No, this player (if you could call him that) should be fired from the U21 squad, his name branded on the "can't farking shoot or pass" wall for all to see. Sure, this player is doing well in his Div III league but shit...

...WTF!!!???

In all seriousness, could someone, anyone, please give me a reason why I shouldn't sell him. It's getting that serious. What kind of player will he be in the future if he's shooting and passing this badly at age 21?!

Well I wont lie and I will tell you that 1/11 with 1 assist but no rebounds, blocks or steals at all in 29 minutes before he mercifully fouled out for the good of the team is one of the worst performances I have ever seen. However he is a baller, and a great baller just bounces back the next game and has a career night. What would Kobe, Wade, LeBron, Durant do after a stinker? Hit the gym and next game wipe the floor with their opponents.

On the other hand it was a dismal night for almost our whole team except for Will Johnson. 28 PTS when the next best were 11 and 7 was a standout performance against very serious opposition.

Some day we will see Dogan in the senior National Team, for Will, this is his moment to shine.
