S17 - SBBL - National TV Match - Strong 3rd quarter powers Eric United past Shohoku Backers 113-104.

It feels like the old day TV match, classic rivalry match between longtime SBBL Eric Utd & Shohoku Backers.

Sertug Acay & Jason Peachey brought Shohoku to early burst, lead briefly with 53-49 at halftime, before Eric Utd ignited a fast & furious 3rd quarter behind marvelous play by Augusto Gomez and Fu Erqiang. End of 3rd quarter saw Eric Utd led 84-70 over Shohoku. At 4th quarter, Shohoku hardly get closer by 10pts until final minutes, when they cut it to 6, but failed to sink some outside shooting, letting Eric escaped with 113-104 victory.

Even tough Acay & Peachey total rebounds matched total of Eric's team with 29, Eric Utd still managed to dominate the game behind art master of the night, Augusto Gomez and Fu Erqiang. Gomez has 33pts and 13asts, Erqiang has 25pts and 15asts. Sertug Acay led Shohoku Backers with fantastic number, 41pts and 12rebs. Jason Peachey has 19pts and 17rebs,

Great 8 Semifinal rematch between Pekanbaru Jaguars & Fat Alexander. Tommy Kupila 12pts 1st half led Jaguars to a 51-36 halftime lead. As Fat-A mounted cut the deficit back within 8 pts, Petrus Alexandersson pick up where his Finnish fellow left, extended the lead to 12 at the end of 3rd. Strong defense and consistent rebounding by Jaguars at 4th kept Fat-A at bay, and ended the match at 107-83. Petrus-A led Jaguars with 26pts 11rebs and 4asts. Kupila & Huo Xiangsong each registered 18pts. Yeo Tse Hui led Fat-A with team high 36pts.

Ly-Canned? Enrique Santorum led the back attack on 4th quarter, combined with unexpected meltdown from Lycans team, brought Esplanade BC to a blistering 38-20 fourth quarter, and won 98-86. Santorum led ESP with 31pts. Michalangelo Bertero led Lycans with 27pts. Lycans were limiting FSX and new Makedonija PG, Apostol Blazev.

I only watch till end of 2nd quarter and had to go out for dinner.. I thought my team can't stop Backers from making it 7-0.. Happy that my players have proven me wrong with a great 3rd quarter!! =)
