S17 - National Tournament - Peleg Schum jumper has won S17 Tournament Tup for Eric United, edged Compassvale United 132-131.

So much breath to hold, so much oohh-aahh to vent out.

It seemed like CPU is going to have it, after their 5 point lead with 3 minutes left. But EU, who recently repeatedly shown strong persistence when trailing opponent, having no problem to chase back. With Augusto Gomez was held deadlock at 4th (zero shot attempt), Harri Simenson and Peleg Schum picked up the slack to keep the margin close.

With under one minute and EU trailing by one, Schum converted a layup off Simenson pass to bring EU 130-129. But after a timeout, Crunchy Italiano Chocolate Giovanni Duskhu sank up a clutch baseline jumper to give CPU 131-130 lead with 15 seconds left. And on the final possesion, Augusto Gomez was able to show CPU that Uruguay Chocolate are much popular in Singapore. With his mad dash looking like he is driving for a layup, but suddenly dishing the dimes to Schum, and he sank the jumper from top of the key with 2 seconds left for 132-131. The Wobble Arena with mixed crowds are erupted. CPU failed to figure out the last possession, and EU players jumped out in a joy, a joy that has been planted deep and very long time.

Althought scoreless at 4th, Augusto Gomez racked up superb 50pts and 9assists, hitting 10 3pointers on his own. Rainer Mand has 26pts before fouling out with 6 minutes left on 4th quarter. Peleg Schum has 22pts, scored 8 pts on 4th quarter. CPU were led by Mel Miller with 38pts 6rebs and 6assists. Mr. Duskhu has 34pts and 14dimes.

EU Manager Eric Ho, was unavailable for comment yet due to a lengthy champagne celebration with his teams on the locker rooms. We shall wait for the Manager to come out and provide the Nations some speech.

S18 - Round 1 - Black Diamond sent Singapore Showstoppers out of tournament, Eric United survived their visit to Pimp Arena.

That's tourney life, surprises and upsets always there.

Finalist Season 17, Singapore Showstoppers have to pack their bags out of Tournament, after failing to keep up with their opponent Blackdiamond pace, fell behind early 49-33 on first half, and hardly make any run on 2nd half, resulted on 98-66 victory for Black-D team. Black-D, surprisingly shopped Polish wingmen Jakub Polewski for two million plus dollar, seemed paid it off on the match. He racked up 20pts 6asts 8rebs without any Turnovers or Fouls. Lim Shi Xin, his last game with Black-D, scored team high 31pts. Chris Yapwantha has 23pts. Edmundo Cabral led SS with 16pts.

Meanwhile last season Tournament CHamps Eric United, managed to fight off a division II team, dA_pimp uN|t3d, as visitor, won 105-82. After leading 52-31 at halftime, dA_pimp uN|t3d were in chasing mode and cut the lead into single digits, but Fu Erqiang put it away and unreachable by opponents. Paulikenas led EU with 22pts, Erqiang has 18pts and 10assists.

Round 2 highlights :

1. Saung Hnin Pwint (SBBL - rank 15) vs Lycans BB (SBBL - rank 11)
Need to say more? If Lycans decided not to put FSX, it should be a tight game.

2. Compassvale United (SBBL - rank 10) vs Summit 450x (Div 2.1 - rank 48)
Summit 450 shouldn't have much chance, but do have three tough wingman that always in fighting mode, and one SGP 19yo Dong Tian Kwang on the rise.

S18 - Round 2 - Fallen of the elites : SLZH & Lycans out of Tournament

Nobody expected this, but it happens.

Struggling within rebuilding process, SLZH has taken a step backward on this season, and also resulted for their narrow defeat from Singapore FC 89-82. Their meltdown started after the tight first half, which Zlatan Eltrin from Singapore FC started to hit jumper all around the floor for 14 pts in 3rd quarter. The rout continues at 4th quarter as SLZH unexpectedly looked shaky on executing their offense with their new Chinese bigman Cheung Jung Kook, which chemistry still looked like oil and water with Eldegez Abilow (zero assists). Eltrin finally finished his night with a long jumper for his 47pts, ending the game 89-82.

Meanwhile at Lycans Arena, Saung Hnin Pwint showed their real form, and after able to frustate FSX, they pulled away in the 4th quarter for 74-61 win. The key victory were the 2/3 zone defense which designated to kept the SGP best bigman out of the painted area. It worked for some reason for SHP, and they're lucky to advance to the 3rd round. Yulian Tabakov led SHP with 16pts and 7rebs. Yeo Teck Seng led Lycans with 19pts. FSX was held to 10pts.

FutureSG, league II elites, have no problem to shutdown Black Diamond 92-69. Black-D, with the departures of Lim Shi Xin, have little weapon to fight against the bigman stacked FutureSG, hence relied on Jakub "Danny Granger" Polewski, who scored 24pts and 7rebs. Local SGP Soh Qiang Leong led FutureSG with 19pts & 16rebs.

Round 3 highlights :

1. SingSing82 (SBBL - rank 15) @ Esplanade BC (SBBL - rank 12)

Both team are the most improved on SGP league, and expected to prove how far they can go on this Tournament. EBC, who just brought in Taiwanese giant Yue Chi Cuong, might proved too much for SingSing82 if they choose to release their best lineup.

2. Pekanbaru Jaguars (SBBL - rank 1) vs Requiem Of Dream (Div 2.3 - rank 24)
Once a strong team on last season, ROD has been making big jump on their country ranks. Pekanbaru Jaguars has rival cheesecake on their league schedule next week, so expect Jaguars to rest some key players, which might make this match interesting to watch.

3. Eric United (SBBL - rank 3) vs Bobblehead (Div 2.3 - rank 20)
It could be ugly for EU, especially of their visit to SHP and battle Sessioes Doers on their league games, forced them to rest some key players for the Tournament. Bobblehead is the Dark Horse on Tournament game. Expect them to go wild on this game.

4. Whampoa Allstars (Div 2.1 - rank 10) vs Compassvale United (SBBL - rank 24)
Much of the rematch of last season Relegation. Time for revenge for Whampoa.
