Hey guys, I’ve tried to locate the post where I’m meant to put the game link, but for some reason numerous posts in this thread are showing as deleted for me and I can no longer see the scores thread at all. I hope Paul George posting the link is sufficient. Not sure how I meet the requirements if I do somehow make it to the next round.

Hello Deano,
That sounds strange indeed.
You (and of course everyone else as well) are supposed to add match link (and eventually the score later on, when match has been played) to your own team box score post.

Everybody can access their Season 1 box score posts following links after their team names, here: (326590.4).
Please add match links for each match (including Playoffs) to your own box score posts if you haven't yet done so.

Deano, in the very unlikely case that link wouldn't work, your own Season 1 box score post can be found from here directly: (326590.56). It seems you did found that post though eventually, as you had added your Second Round link there. When you have time, can you also please correct term AQR2 as for your First Round "result", as you didn't play on First Round of Playoffs.

I know I just instructed to copy-paste it directly from my box score post, but as you are one of top 4 teams, term Automatically Qualified for Round 2 (AQR2) applies to your team instead of match link. It is kind of self explanatory, when you read through those abbreviations (such as AQR2) explanations section at the end of my box score post, but I could've explained it in more thorough manner.

I just sometimes try to make writings a bit shorter (and try to trust that people know how to act based on those shorter writings), as some have commented that they prefer shorter posts. But this is also one example why I often keep on writing longer ones.

Anyway, thanks for all for organizing matches for Second Round on next Sunday!

While 2 remaining Finnish teams (Suuret Muinaiset and myself) are entering Second Round as major underdogs, there are two notable points at least for Second Round:

- one French team is guaranteed to play in Medal games this season (and WMO-ED should be a very interesting match indeed!)
- if all favorites (ranked from 1 to 3 in ORSR) will win on Second Round, we will have participants from 3 different continents in Medal games!

As for the underdog starting point for Round 2 - well, everything is possible just as Hadár noted earlier, especially in one match series, but let's still face the reality; one needs to perform at very high level to beat Svätý Jur Snakers or Santa Eufemia Ducks and possibly injuries or early foul outs would be needed to clinch the victory against the top opposition. But that's often the case in real life as well, so we'll have to live with the underdog position. ;)
Having said that, to be honest I can't recall if mid-game injuries (that last only until the end of the current match) are even a possibility in Pickup matches, as I only remember that PU matches can't produce long term injuries.

If memory serves, "mid-game injuries" are possible in Pickup games.

Hi Wagner, I logged out and back in again and things seemed to revert. I’ve added a link to my original games post in the second round of finals pos.

Thanks for confirming that. Also that was not to say that I would hope your players would get injured, but if I want to be on the realistic side (after comparing the levels of our current rosters), early injuries and/or foul outs might be my only chance of clinching a huge upset win. Even with those taking place, I would remain a major underdog in my papers. And from my BB history I can't recall any game in where, say, total of 3-4 players would've injured and/or fouled out quite early on, so AFAIK those are very rare occasions anyway.

Of course I'll try my best (which I advised everyone else to do, no matter how hard your opposition might look like), but you just have a vastly superior team compared to mine, so it's going to be a tall mountain to climb.

Anyway, good luck to everyone for Second Round (quarter-final) matches - "tickets" for medal games are up for grabs now so put in all the effort you´ve got!

Thanks for a reply Deano.
I'm not sure I understood 100% what you meant.
But I noticed that you've added a link to your Second Round Playoff match, which is of course the most essential thing, so thank you.
When you´ll add a score of your Second Round match (and possibly add a match link for Third Round, if you win your Second Round match), can you please change a text AQR2 as your First Round "score" (after text "PO Round 1") as you didn't actually play on First Round, thank you.

Fair enough. I figured if I had round one there without opponent it was a given. I can do that.
I don’t think I’ll win this one.

Oh, I see what you mean.
I've taken the approach here that it's kind of new to all of us (first Playoffs ever), and while the process is very similar to organizing Regular Season matches, it still requires actions every week during Playoffs from every manager that is still playing post-season games. Some of those managers could've taken a long pause from HGL (as I haven't seen box score posts being updated regularly for some teams) during HGL Regular Season, so they now have to find a way to actively engage with HGL every week as long as they're playing in Playoffs.

As I've instructed, I recommend everyone to set up some kind of phone/computer/calendar reminders on organizing Playoff matches on time weekly.

So yes, considering that nothing of this is new to us on next season, from the Season 2 Playoffs on I would really want to see everyone, including those teams that have automatically qualified to Second Round (AQR2-status) to add correct status to their teams' own season box score post in time (before the First Round Playoff games are played on Sunday).
I wouldn't prefer to having get this done with better success rate by enforcing penalties.

Again, it's an acceptable practice to send those match links to HGL Scores Thread or to the other Official HGL Thread in the first place if you don't have time to add link to your own season box score posts at that exact moment (it's better than not making it available at all, as it makes it possible to keep on advancing with the match confirmation process on my behalf), but it's necessary to add it also to your teams' own box score post.

In a way it's even easier for me to see/notice that current round match link when it's been sent to, say, to Scores Thread instead of teams' own box score post (as now I do have to visit every teams' box score post again and again to see if link has been sent there already or not).

But eventually if, or rather when, I need to visit those box score posts of all managers later on, it's going to prove to be an almost impossible task (read: a task that is way more arduous than when everyone follows the same easy protocol to begin with) to search for part of the links and scores from the two Official Threads and some links from the teams' own box score posts. So they need to reside clearly at the place where I know I can find them easily, into the foreseeable future.

And the same goes with this, as during Regular Season - it's wise to have these links available at least in two different places, already for security reasons. If you recall, delete button resides 2,5 millimeters (0,1"!) away from the edit-button, so each time I edit something there is a risk included (while a very small one, but it does still exists and consequences could be somewhat critical).

Well, two of your biggest star players, Lambkin and Costigan (combined wage over $370K) are in best possible game shape this week, and in the salary ranking out of the next 5 "supporting players" worst of them has a wage of around $20K, so while I do understand (and agree on) your points in more equally balanced wage structure possibly being more successful in terms of winning maximum number of games, you still have a very strong team for HGL.

And you won your Regular Season meeting (133880004) by 11, and are now playing at home court instead, so I think you'll have a fair shot at win on Second Round for the very least.
