I will just ask the team to relax, enjoy themselves and reserve their energy for the remaining games.. for now, Australia is too tough for us..

This is dramatic. I can't understand why he is injured for 3rd straight games,

Me too.. well, luckily the team played out a solid 4th quarter without him..

NT Game 4 - Singapore vs Australia

Singapore surrendered a half-time 47-37 lead to end game 4 with a 86-94 defeat. Y. Tse Hui led by example with 29 points while F. Shuangxiang disappoints as he was in foul trouble and was eliminated from the game with 6 personal fouls.

I think we didn't maintain our composure and lost focus in the last two quarters, but overall I am still please with the team's effort. We are still waiting for Shuangxiang to shine this season, hopefully he will do so in our next game against Macau!"

NT Game 5 - Singapore vs Macau

Singapore starts game 5 with a strong 21-10 first quarter and finished off the match comfortably with a 93-80 win. Although Macau put in more effort for the game, F. Shuangxiang, being restricted to just 19 minutes due to foul trouble, led the team with 30 points and 11 rebounds. Wang Xiangjia, his partner, also did well with 20 points and 23 rebounds as Singapore adopted a Look Inside offensive strategy.

"I am happy for Shuangxiang, he did well in this game," Eric commented, "Hope he can continue this form against Prathet Thai in our last game and commit less fouls."

NT Game 6 - Singapore vs Thailand

Singapore advanced to the 2nd round of the Asia Championship Tournament with a 97-71 win over Thailand in the last game of the 1st round.

Knowing they have already qualified for the 2nd round prior to the game against Thailand, the manager chose to take it easy for the game. F. Shuangxiang (18pts and 15rebs) and W. Xiangjia (18pts and 15rebs) played well in a low post offensive strategy. And bench players A. bin Ismail and A. Kok Loong also took their chance to show their manager what they can do when given the chance to play.

After a poor 1st quarter for Thailand, Thailand's S. Wongkumlao, T. Phosomboon and W. Ratana-ubol tried to make a comeback in the 2nd and 3rd quarter with a very tight game. But Singapore took hold of the 4th quarter and power home with a comfortable 97-71 win.

"The NT finished in 3rd postion out of the seven teams in Pool C." Eric replied to the reporter,"It was a good result considering the two teams, Philippines and Australia, above us are very tough teams to beat. It was a great team effort, thanks to the players and their club manager of their respective team who have kept them in good shape and trained them well. We are all looking forward to the 2nd round!"
