Comming back to your question

This is a little bit off topic, but it seems like a lot of this debate is coming from speculation about the details of this system. We tried very hard to announce very far in advance that this would be happening in order to minimize the impact on teams who decide to adjust their long-term strategy as a result and in order to minimize the impact on the transfer market.

However, we've also made a number of changes this offseason that we really did want to make sure were given proper attention, and we really did not want to spend a lot of time in what was already going to be a long news post focusing on the details of a system for two seasons from now.

Do you think it was a mistake to announce something like this without details? What would have been a better option?

The problem is not the moment of the announcement. I think it is very good to do such announcement quite early. The problem is that many users (including me) do not understand why this change should be necessary. So it is understandable that we react vigorously independently from the moment of the introduction of the change.

I would have liked to have a description of the problem and of the solution proposed before even talking about a timetable of introduction. This is particularly important for a change that is likely to have a large impact on economy and on equity among countries.

Furthermore explaining on how this system should be made to be fair to countries of different sizes would have been interesting, too. To me it is like introducing something to do something and then to have to correct because the new system has a lot of disadvantages. So why should it be introduced at all???

At the moment there are 39 players from Thailand on the transfer list (two of them NT players available cheap cough cough)

Nice transfer ad..I cannot believe this guy deserves to feature in your NT. This is unbelieveable. Oh sorry you are in fact the Thai natiional coach oh and he plays for you.

There has to be reprucussions for this... some poor manager has now spent over the odds on a mediocre player believing he has got himself a NT player.

Whatever credibility you held with other managers has now officially disappeared. You are a disgrace to the community.

I may be quick to wade in with premature comments that might ruffle a few feathers but your behaviour in using a NT for personal profit is disgusting.

Also, we be making good better use of player nationalities, and domestic players will be slightly (typically 10-20%) better economically than foreign ones.

stop acting like you think me and some others that agree with me cant read or dont understand english. the message in the news section is extremely clear english. allow me to explain what i mean.

it doesnt matter whether foreign players become more expensive and homegrown players cost the same or foreign players cost the same and homegrown players become cheaper. the effect is the same. we dont know the reasoning behind this idea, that is true and we dont know how it will truly affect the game until it gets implemented, but the clear meaning off the message in english cant be denied or argued about.

i have posted just this this message and no further info on a forum where i know some people that are native english and i have asked some native english speakers to tell me what it means and they all say the something similar along the lines off.

foreign players become more expensive and homegrown players cost the same or foreign players cost the same and homegrown players become cheaper

I asked them because i really started to doubt my own english skills after how some people respond to this discussion...

so please stop saying we dont know what it means, because we do. it is true when you are trying to say we dont know what the impact will be, because we dont know, but we can speculate and that is why there is a forum and why it is good to have a discussion about what it could mean. not a discussion whether someone is right or wrong...

Right on about the draft being a random crap shoot. In fact, a season-long manager need not put one $ into the draft to still get at least 12-14 "looks." And then they might have information on a very good prospect and because of that fact, actually choose him. Why is that? If a manager has decided that the draft is not worth any money, then they should receive absolutely zero looks. Doesn't that seem fair?

Wow.
He is listed at below his max transfer evaluation.
He was on the TL well before this post was made. I will gladly buy him back if the guy is unsatisfied.

His skills were visible before any bid was made.

I could care less what you think the community thinks of me. I certainly didn't do this to make a personal profit from the NT. I apologize if anyone thinks this and will atone for my mistake, if it really is one. Anyone who knows anything about the Thai NT knows we are not very good with the exception of some great shooting guards (one of whom is also on the TL and is not on my team but is cheap and great ) .

I make enough money from playing in a small competitionless country to even consider trying to pull off some sort of NT fraud. And, I don't try to cheat or gain unfair advantages ever, and certianly not in an online hoops management game.

Once again, I apologize to anyone who feels like I took advantage of my position.

Once I scored a basket that still makes me laugh.

I believe this should have ben directed at me, no?
Did your friends tell you that in English it makes no sense because we be making is not in fact correct English at all?

But the difference is clear- if domestic players get cheaper you save money! If foreign players get more expensive you lose money. At least as I see it.

no worries at all..... this thread is starting to repeat itself too often now.

we all have a viewpoint and we will all find out soon enough how it all will work.

I'm confident that we will all learn to adapt and benefit from whatever is thrown at us.

I have outbid the guy who had bid on my player, even though he had made his bid yesterday. I have asked noone to bid on him ( in his quote) so that he will return to my team. I have removed him from the NT.
I am neither a cheat nor above admitting when I am wrong, even though I didn't see anything wrong with it as I tossed that paranthetical in my post for a bit of levity without really thinking about it.
