As much as I would like to see Laviolette join the Hall of Fame, I don't think he'll ever get the vote. He was a controversial player even in his prime. Too much Jump Shot, not enough of everything else!

As such, my vote will be for Gary Milot. I think Milot really exemplified quality training for a PG and was a model I followed on Galdos and it paid off very well.

Cheers

My point was that he does not need to be mentioned in every single thread (particularly threads that have nothing to do with anything even remotely related to him). So let's stop derailing this thread and let conversation return just to hall of fame voting.

My vote goes for Milot also. Surely this is the right time to vote him in as a starter in the NT for so long. TSA and Abott are still heavily involved in the NT and to me there is something not quite right in voting them into the Hall of Fame when they are still prominent NT players.

I am editing my vote and casting it for Gary Milot.

The reason I decided to change it is because in a lot of ways Abbott, and to a lesser extent TSA, aren't as remarkable a Milot. Abbott was never the best player on an U21 or full NT and was only the best SF in Canada for maybe 2 seasons. He wasn't a trail blazer like Wendon and was quickly surpassed by Kaleel.

TSA is probably the first truly well rounded NT PF, and is arguably Canada's best current player on paper, so I can see him being in the running.

The reason why Milot is worth inducting is that as an u21 guard he was light years ahead of just about any other guard the team has ever seen. (correct me if I am wrong). He basically barely improved after he turned 22 and was a national team caliber guard from that point on until last season. He contributed to the NT, and his rise was way faster than just about anyone.

Vote Milot!

Well in an incredibly close vote Gary Milot has been elected to the Canadian Hall of Fame. Milot beat out current NT superstar TSA by one vote, and is truely deserving of the award. As mentioned by others in this thread, Milot was a true powerhouse in his day and lead the U21 and NT during his time in the lineup. Unfortunately his career was cut short by a few transfers and the lack of training that followed.

Congrats Gary Milot, you are a Canadian legend!
