Here we go again. Poor game shape on 3 of our players. It kinda costed us this game badly. Li Fu Feng got dropped from the team because Singapore Slingers has a history of overplaying his players. Too bad they're really good at developing players that I'm forced to watch good players go to waste season after season. I can only hope that they get knocked out of the cup as soon as possible so I can call up their player because then they'll only play 2 games a week.
Tonight's game was wild. Of course, none of the Thais had as many free throws as Austin Reaves against the Kings. But it was equally bad. The referee just didn't want us to win - fouling out Chiang Kong Boon in the second, while putting Teoh Huat Shi in foul trouble midway through the game. We ended with 1 player fouled out and 3 players in foul trouble. The most ridiculous part? Most of them were not shooting fouls (which means it has nothing to do with how well their players are offensively). It was like we weren't even allowed to defend.
On the other hand, I must say the game was a tactical masterclass by Thailand U21. They knew that we were one of their major opponents in this qualifying round, so they went all out. With 2 unwinnable games and Pakistan U21 coming up later, I must say that it was a very smart move. I still don't think we deserved the loss, but I don't think we should take away the credit on how well their manager planned out their season.
Well, let's keep our heads down, GS up, and keep grinding on. We got South Korea U21 next. Another hurdle. But I believe in our boys.
