S17 - National Tournament - Artsy finish by Mauras Duskauskas earn Eric United a Tournament Seminifal ticket after hold off Defending Cup SLZH 89-87.

EU fans are cheering joyfully, the team is back to semifinal after some decades.

Mauras Duskauskas provided EU for their best ever crunch-time delivery. With Abilov tied the game at 87-87, he droved the ball past Jarno Merinkagas but suddenly stepped back and scored the fade away for 89-87 with 3 seconds left. Merinkagas failed to score final baskets, and EU runaway with the victory.

Eric were trailed at most on the game. With their game on the bring, trailing 74-80 with four minutes left, suddenly EU woke up to score the next 9 points, capped by Gruner three pointer over Augusto Gomez dish, to claim their first lead since 1st quarter 83-80. EU three point lead lasted until final 22 seconds, and after SLZH timeout, a dagger trey by SLZH Eldegez Abilov tied the game at 87-87. But EU chose not to timeout and put their fate on Duskauskas and he delivered.

The game was featured with two ejection, EU Fu Er Qiang was kicked out by referee after trying to land his foot at Donatello Steri. And Leandro Perrone was ejected after earned his second technical, cause a huge loss for SLZH middle core, leave Merinkagas to shoulder their team. Compassvale United survived Montecucco's 54 points, beat Fat-A 94-91.

One of the Singapore BB hottest team, CPU, also advanced to Cup Semifinals for the first in many seasons back. Although they beat Fat-A, the win was almost blown away. With CPU possession and lead 91-88, Montecucco stole an errant pass by Chun May, sank another trey to pull within one 91-92. Luckily time running out, and CPU was getaway with the win. Lin Baoxiang led CPU with 20pts and 14rebs. Mel Miller has 19pts. Wang Xianjia was struggled again after manned up against Fat-A big diesel Konrad Krasnitzer.

Requiem Of Dream shutdown Bobblehead, FuTureSG survived Singapore Slashers

Key player Ernesto Ceresi lead the team with 38pts and 10rebs, and Guillermo Olmedo has 26pts 12rebs and 4asts. Both player clearly dominated inside, which is a huge hole for Bobblehead team.

S17 - SGP - National Tournament - Preview

Requeim Of Dream (SGP #30) vs Compassvale United (SGP# 11)

The fire still haven't not stopped, as Requiem Of Dream kept climbing up to a recognition at SGP BB, the National Tournament. This is the finest moment that they could enjoy, although the next opponent waiting is from SBBL powerhouse, Compassvale United (CPU)

If this were the CPU of two season ago, this would be a dogfight between the two teams, but CPU recent shopping of Remy Wisgerhof, Mel Miller, and SGP U21 Lin Chuan Loong are certainly skyrocketed their class.

However, Little chance for ROD to advance to Tournament Final, as the gap is too large between the team. ROD's Ernesto Ceresi won't be able to stop CPU blue collar bigman in Wang Xiangjia, Lin Baoxiang and Lin Chuan Loong. And back court is even a nightmare, as ROD can't expect their two teenanger guard Ambaramani Sharma & Ang Wei Yong to stop CPU top PG Giovanni Duskhu and Chow Chun May.

Edge : CPU with 15+ points.

FuTureSG (SGP #27) vs Eric United (SGP# 7)

FuTureSG, a longtime division II team, also made their strong strides to a contention, managed to beat out stingy Singapore Slashers to advanced to Tournament Semifinal for the first time for the Franchise. But their fate are much similar with ROD, as they will be facing one of SBBL Legends Eric United.

Above the paper, EU with their six-figured salary Augusto Gomez is clearly not yet the level of any guard players of FuTureSG, even SGP U21 Abdul Rauf Ishak. But they do have two reliable bigman that have carried the load so far, Nolan Maglasin and Bronislovas Dabrukas. If both player performing well, the match will be interesting.

Edge : EU with 15+ points.

A Wei Yong ~ C Chun May
L Muluzu ~ R Wisgerhof
G Olmedo ~ W Xiangjia
E Ceres ~i L Chuan Loong

1st Q score ~~ Rod 26 -- 29 Compass

High scoring game at the momment with Rod doing all they can to keep the game close. Muluzu leads Rod with 8 points but Powerhouse Ceresi is sitting with 3 fouls now. Dushku facing the inexperienced Oliveira is having a good game with 7 points while M Miller chipped in 7 pts at the quarter as well.

Half time report

Rod 54 -- 56 Compass

Rod continues to put pressure on Compass by scoring easy baskets through dunks while Compass continues to rain 3s upon Rod. One thing favoring Compass is the massive number of fouls Rod players have picked up this 2 quarters and this might prove to be the differential at the end. L Muluzu top Rod with 14 while C Chun May leads Compass with 15 points

Future 41 -- 62 Eric

With a 2nd string team, Future cant compete with Eric United losing by a massive 21 points . Future backup players must push their mentality to those of all-star caliber if they are to overturn such a huge deficit. N Maglasin continues to play well for Future by chipping in 15 while P Schum stars for Eric with 15 points
