Hey PatjeBono:
I read up on the FA cup and it has it's similarities to the current BB Cup format. However, I did note something interesting on Wikipedia:
All Premier League and Football League clubs may enter. Non-league clubs may also enter if they competed in the previous season's FA Cup, FA Trophy, or FA Vase competition and are deemed to be playing in an "acceptable" league for the current season. All clubs entering the competition must have a suitable stadium.
So the teams must be at an "acceptable" level of competition and must have a "suitable" stadium. I would argue that the bots do not meet either of these criteria. Ok, an argument could be made for the competition level - bots can easily beat certain human teams. However, bot stadiums are not "suitable" in my opinion.

Glad you're all getting bot teams. I got the cup runners up for my first game

Is this comment directed at me? I actually got eliminated this past week by a human owner.
I'm not sure why people are happy to draw bots. If you play them on the road you get almost no income and still have a chance to be eliminated. At least if you draw the cup runners up on the road you get a nice chunk of change.
Last season I went 7 rounds and drew a bot each time. Eventually they figured out how to beat me in the 7th game. Meanwhile, my cup experience was pretty boring.
Finally, some people have talked about the excitement of cup sets. I can see that if it is a human manger doing the cupset. How exciting is a cupset if it comes from a bot team? It is just a downer for the human manager.

No it wasn't. Would be nice for a home bot game then human teams. Just its my first full season and my luck drew me against the runners up - not good.
Anyway I can pick up some flags this way

Last season 6 matches in a row at home. The 7th and the 8th were away, unfortunately. That's why there has not been a 9th game.

I guess I'm a lucky bastard. All games at home. But I thought the bigger stadium (or at least the biggest profit team), would receive the game. I think that makes sense. So both teams can benefit from it (even if one walks out). I would like to play a First League team, but if it is on my home, how can I benefit from it? I will surely lose, and I won't have a decent profit? Doesn't make much sense to me.

i completely support the random factor regarding the cup draw. As an ex-hattrick player, I found the cup in that game to be monotonous and boring until the last few rounds (and I actually won a cup in hattrick (same team name)) . Buzzerbeater's system keeps me on my toes and aware of the cup draw each week.
