Its obvious that You understand the game, getting to Naismith twice is impressive, but its also obvious You know nothing about the U21/NT side of things. Kumiko had a bad team last season. That's not her fault, she cannot train all the players, she just has to choose from the crop. In fact last years bad team has more to do with me, not doing enough contact work with the owners of the trainees when those players were drafted. The crop of players we have coming in are some of the best players we have had at the u21 level, because Kumiko has been working her tail off to deal with the contact work and scouting. You have never once contributed to the Canadas U21 or NT programs and that's not supposed to be rude, heck most Canadian managers haven't, but You should try being active on the offsite forum. Helping with gameplanning, scouting, roster decisions, before You throw Your name in the hat.

Seriously if people are even considering another manager besides Kumiko You are insane. Canada got their second ever direct bid to the worlds with her at the helm and the first time we got a direct bid, The Mogul was the manager, probably the best U21 manager Canada ever had and he had HCA that season. This is a no brainer. Kumiko needs to be Canadas U21 manager for another term.

I admit that Kumiko has done an awesome job with what she has.
And I have railed against real pro coaches that have been fired for bad records after their GM's have given them little to work with but you know what, that's the nature of the beast.
You don't win you get fired, or, you get the bosses temporary approval and than you get fired.

I have never really been a contributer to the off site and I think I could run the program as well as anyone.

Fact be known, as a member I went to check the depth charts today as directed by you in another thread.

all the game planning, scouting and roster decisions while contributing to the off site didn't make Kumiko a winner, so don't assume that's the only approach.

I think it's too big a job for him right now but if you saw the sheets of stats he works with as a 10 year old, it would blow your mind
perhaps that's why he's been to Naismith twice and you haven't

I think Kumiko will make a better coach this season
but in the long run I bet he will beat the pants off of her
because he will get this job sooner or later if he really wants it

Whether I win the election or not,I think it is very important for whoever is managing to have a strong presence on the offsite. Or who intends to manage in the season(s) before they do manage.

Just to see/participate in the rhythm of the U21 week from game to game. Not just managing the team for each game, but keeping an eye on scouting, keeping the pipeline for each position stocked, answering training questions/general BB questions, and knowing as much as possible about the whole game ie. rules, important dates, strategy, GE changes, transfer market postings of foreign U21 players, etc

I know I would be (more) comfortable voting for someone new to take over if they have demonstrated knowledge/time/dedication into the U21 system before just deciding to run.

I don't have a problem sharing things I've picked up, as I have learned from generous people who have mentored me in the past and answered many of my questions. (Rip/Beanerz/Beener/Mr.Burns/Bballin/jbm/etc)

While I agree that sports is a results driven industry that is a ridiculous comment in regards to the U21 team. The failure of the team is a result of crappy players, so my question to all the candidates is what would you have done to get different results? Please provide more details than the obligatory "set the line up" BS.

The dedication of Kumiko is unquestioned and deserves a tremendous amount of credit. It is easy to comment about what she may not have done in the last season but I challenge all candidates to try and do half as much as she has.

In my opinion it is far more difficult and demanding to run either one of the National teams than it is to advance to Naismith. While advancing to Naismith is surely an accomplishment it pails in comparison to running a successful NT. The top managers in BB have been able to train elite level players while remaining competitive. So my next question is what is the best player you have trained? Is that player Canadian? And if so why the hell not?.

As do I. On the offsite I don't even have to log in.

For easy matches, yes, the offsite is not needed, but for important matches, both U21 and NT managers seek out opinions from the Canadian community for tactic and roster choices, something that can't be done on here.

I came right out and said after qualifying for worlds we wouldn't do anything there. I knew what players I would have to work with and up against the powers of Europe, no chance. Our best player was over GS7 once all season and our second best player was 20 years old.

At Worlds at best we could have won 1 game instead of 0. HGG noticed right away what I could have done differently, and I admit as much. Give me the team that got us to World's and I think we would have made 2nd round.

U21 is not like a usual team. Different roster every single season. Wholesale changes.

As for checking U24 on the TL that's not what I'm talking about.
1) U21 players from other teams to look for trends in opposition training
2) There are 414 players I currently have all the skills for thru scouting.

I don't doubt you or several other people from Canada would be able to do this. I'd like to do it for 2 more seasons and have someone (more) successfully do it after me. It's not something to just jump in cold tho.

In game: tie'd Spain, we would have beat Misr before OT.
Out of game: Hound managers even more than I already do to ensure they have level 4-6 trainers and check up more often than I already do about how training is going. Hound managers even more than I already do to sell the player if they are not being trained effectively. ie. be an even bigger bitch who is just trying to make U21 as successful as it can possibly be, while teaching less-than-experienced managers how to do things more effectively in BB

2. What is the best player you have trained? Is that player Canadian? And if so why the hell not?.
Morales, Canadian, now 25, has a chance to make NT later. Since age 18, during 1st couple seasons I could have got a couple more pops out of him, and in a slightly different order, but I was learning then.
Macindeor, Canadian, now 24, also with a chance to make NT later. Bought him to keep him in Canada.

Personally, I think as a country with a small and shrinking user base, I think the U21 should be more of a way to connect with new managers and integrate them into the Canadian community. We need to get them connected with more experienced users that can mentor them and hopefully encourage them to stick around. I would rather have more people sticking around than winning U21 (the NT is a diffierent story). I think it's more important to vote on building community as opposed to results (which have been decent imo).
I think Kumiko has been simply outstanding in this respect, and encourage others who are supportive of her to vote right now (or don't forget), and not take for granted that she'll be elected. My only suggestion of how she could improve would be to hound managers less, and try to connect them to mentors more (who can talk to them about their entire team, which may mean not picking up that L6 trainer, and ideally from another manager so they don't the advice is just for the benefit just of the U21).
