So how do you know if this is the case or not with these players? You can't assume these are bad prospects when you can't see them, right? You have decided that it was a bad draft and that drafts are getting worse looking at the exact same information everyone else is looking at. A point which I think you are making, incorrectly, based on a very minute sample size anyways.

of course this is a small sample size and whether those salary draftee are useful or not still depends on the skillpoint distribution. but I'm not making these noise just because the draftees in my league is bad. I was a scout before. I have observed the player market for seasons. I know the trend. and I think it at least deserves public awareness and discussion. On the team level, it affects how we scout and draftee market price. It also means the draftees you develop all seasons along are unlikely to contribute when one day your team is promoted to D1 or D2. On NT game level, it makes those big nations even more dominating. Polarizing will be more serious.

i know...we usually set the bar at 4500 for centers and 4200 for other positions, but since i took over our u21, we are looking for 3.5k and up.

I think that might be the main reason why some people think the drafts are getting worse. We can't see the skills, only potential and price and now prices all look 20-40% lower than they used to be.

So you look at a superstar with a $3000 salary and you think he's a bad prospect. In the old days, he would have had a $4200+ starting salary and looked like a great prospect. But its the same guy, just with different window dressing.

All the more reason when it pisses me off when this happens. A newish team to the game gets blessed with a 7k 18 year old Superstar center who is 7'2" AND a 5k 18 year old P. Allstar Center who is 7"0". He gets two amazing prospects due to being in a crappy bot league and wants to train both of them. Soon he will have two salary beasts that his team can't handle so he will have to sell them. Any thoughts on this?

(23436) The team with these two amazing players..

Well, I don't know if 3k translates to 4.2k of some seasons back...afterall, 1.2k is almost 30% of 4.2k.

Also, a 3k player with Superstar potential isn't a great prospect for a U21 country with 550+ teams. I mean, it certainly can be developed into a decent U21 player, but there should be so many players better than him that it isn't likely. But if draft quality regresses even further, we will have to lower our bar, yes.

We have different opinions on this. I don't only look at the salary. I know their actual skills. Perhaps Bonifika, who also takes part in U21 affair, will agree that a player with $3000 - $3500 salary probably have 2-3 major setbacks, like a PG with 7 in PA and HA but 2 or 3 in OD and JS. And very often the salary goes up coz high levels of RB and SB and this is pretty useless for guards.

but in the other hand, since the quality of draftees gets lower and lower, there wont be 100k salary guys sellin at the market for 200k anymore soon, since low potencial guys wont reach it. And there will be very few high salary guys.

i doubt that they changed something at the formula, the draftee are as good or as bad like every.

Some leagues have more luck(ie mine), other not but there will be always whinning.

The only difference is that the starting salary for the same skill got cheaper.
