Red Side
IN: rode duivels (III.9)
OUT: Laeken (III.4)

1. Collège Saint-Louis Basket: 479k [+56k]
Strong star player, great bench, experienced coach, a home game vs LV Clips. If there ever is a season to promote, it would be this one. But maybe the biggest competition for Tom10 comes from the teams listed below, as indicated by the loss at TheRainmakers.
I feel like there is not much too say about this team, as their achievements will speak for itself. Maybe for the first time since s43, there won’t be a CSLB in II.1?

2. TheRainmakers: 456k [+210k]
BigT made the intentions for this season clear in the intro post of this very forum. Winning!
This big statement is accompanied by a salary increase of … 210k? He just bought a new team for his team? While the new players are bench players, the GGP trainees are ready for a step up.
An early loss against Kriflonius was highly unexpected, But TheRainmakers is the reason CSLB and BouffAssist have the same record, with one loss for all three teams.
I am looking forward to seeing the competitiveness on the red side.

3. TheAmbassadors: 435k [-62k]
TheAmbassador hasn’t had the best of starts. With a 2-3 record and bad game shapes on his best players, it’s not looking good. With the players available, damage can certainly be done.
But with only 9 players in the ranks, these cup games are no presents. Also, the only team to have a decline in salary, and not a small one.
There is still enough time to bounce back. So no need to worry … yet

4. ccf packers: 391k [+25k]
Maybe a bit unexpected, but yes, dicus has the 5th best paid team in our league. And with Acquet slowly approaching it’s potential, ccf packers won’t lose games without a fight.
As seasons progress in our league, the ‘easy’ games seem to have gone extinct. The battle for a spot in POs will be brutal and dicus definitely has the tools to take it. The young players in the roster are eager to prove their worth.

5. BouffAssist: 360k [+28k]
One of the three teams on the red side to start 4-1. Not bad for someone who just wants to reach POs. marvinxl hasn’t changed much to the team, yet ‘Big E’ Teerlinck ain’t no BigT, so only a minimal salary increase compared to TheRainmakers.
I’m not expecting for BouffAssist to 3-peat reaching the conference finals, but I wouldn’t be surprised. The starters are strong enough to make every game at least competitive.

6. armstrongs: 360k [+37k]
For the blue side, this set of players would nearly be guaranteed a spot in POs. But this is the red side, and there are no gifts here. Just like the teams above and below, no women-* will have to fight to avoid relegation games. But even if this fails, something needs to go severely wrong to relegate at the end.
It is a solid div.II team with a strong enough bench to spread minutes and give fans worth for their money in every game armstrongs play.

7. Kriflonius: 300k [+45k]
The team closest to the salary floor, while still being nearly 50k off. A team which is, like some others in this league, focusing on GGP trainees and, like other others, hoping to reach POs or at least not relegate.
While Krifl could surprise TheRainmakers early in the season, it won’t be easy to go 15-7 for a third season in a row, as the strength of nearly all teams on the red side has gone up.

8. rode duivels: 149k [NEW]
Ever since BBC Rumst has rebranded to rode duivels, Bachi has gotten the team to div. II twice, this season being that second time. But with a salary less than half that of any other team on the red side, the results are as expected. It is never good to have the worst PD in the league, on top of that, only 1 game didn’t end up in garbage time.
Weekly, the BBs are cashing 120k to ensure no one is paying less than the salary floor, so transfers are recommended here.

Thank you Krifl :)

I guess Houdeng is mad now :P

For me CSL is still the favorite for the red side, I will need to win against them on the road in order to clinch a possible HCA in the playoffs, this will be though.
In all I think the blue side are again favorites to win it all due the fact that they have easier opponents and can prepare ideally for the playoffs. I will face LV Clips on the road and Angie at home so it is an ok schedule.

And my increase in salary comes from my 3 trainees, Vesovold went from 50k to 88k salary and last season I bought a PG with a 70k salary ;)

I agree with statements made by BigT : CSL is still the favourite on our side but again the blue side is going to win the division title : less adversity on the path to the finals.

Didn't really consider that, but yes, the best teams on the blue side have an advantage. Being able to save/build enthousiasm, combined with (likely) HCA in the league finals greatly increases their odds.

I have never had more fear for a season than this one. The red side has gotten too strong for my liking :)

Thanks for your preview. It brings much more motivation to start topics like this ! I see y'all telling blue side should own the champion because of the lower rivalry within their conference. Well, it is more likely to be crowned in this case, I admit. But looking at past seasons, it was all the contrary. I don't wanna appear pretentious but I was (with only BouffAssist as a good opponent) a bit alone on the red side and never promoted. However, I was always weaker than almost all blue side PO teams ! But the hardest conference has still made it until the end !

Several explanations. Either I managed my seasons as a stupid boy (always trying to go as far as possible in the cup, forgetting the important meetings of the league), either I was really much much weaker than my final opponent, either the rivalry helps out to be better prepared for the PO (slight comparison with our Red Devils between their run in Euro 2016 and in WC 2018... easy draw => poor 1/4 ; tough draw => 3rd).

I really think the best explanation in my case is the second but I don't think in the same time than both the other are to throw away and the third one could help us thinking about this season issue... :)

May all of you enjoy the season !

My sincerest apologies, I tried to avoid any gendered pronouns, but a quick check shows I've broken my rule 3 times. Of which twice in the example you've given. I edited it and is noted for next season! :)

Seems that LV Clips doesn't need to worry about TheRainmakers anymore, Which was to be expected.
TRM has lost against ... me, had an away game against LV and still has to play @CSLB.

Only a victory could have saved him today, but alas. The game of LV @CSLB will now be the most deciding game.
But then again, LV still has a better PD ...

And he even lost Lambinet during the game. Adding it to a lower enthusiasm shows the domination of LV ! Except an unexpected loss of LV, winning against him won't change anything for me as I won't overtake his PD and I still have several tough games to keep the 1st place of the red side.
