@iking : The agency theory sounds appropriate, but I think it has nothing to do with local managers or those who aren't. I am BB supporter, so I give a little money in exchange of fun, and being a proud manager of my team. I suppose it is something similar when you are a NT coach : I can't think of anything better than when you know you did your best. Anyway it will be nice to hear about that "sufficient something"! (just joking) :-P
GM-Devastator: I agree completely with cezzz16 : it is an unfair situation for those countries who had had less seasons to train a good number of players. It changed for a while for some of them when we got the new potentials, and certainly it is not a problem for U-21 teams, as they get renewed every year. So it will be difficult for this country to have such a good team for the NT as this year's U-21, compared to other countries (of course, I would also give a great merit to current staff, I just say that the NT will have a bigger disadvantage on this point).
Anyway, about translating that success to NT. When I sold my Spanish NT player, I made sure that he got into one of the best teams : good doctor, good trainer (and training), Spanish team...
So, there are a lot of things to be done. First, of course, scouting. Then, advicing about proper training. But something important too : findind proper teams for those players which cannot be kept by their teams because of their salary.
@ Don Manoah : Of course, I don't find any offense on that. I understand anyone may doubt about the capabilities of other manager, no matter how much you know about him / her. Even more, when he is a foreigner, and of course, as you don't have a reliable source. Again, no offence : feel free to make any comment now or after the election ;-)
May the NT begin this season as good as possible!
