I had an interesting example of Patient yesterday.

http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/36350285/boxscore.aspx

At first glance, the box score looks pretty normal...my SG, playing in the SF position jacked up a lot of 3s (and missed). However, I watched the game, and I can tell you that almost all of those attempts came in the last 6 minutes when I was down by 10 and he had played every single minute of the game.

If you go to gameview and look at the shot distribution of the 1st half. You will see a lot of shots by guards and small forwards close to the net. Watching the game, I noticed that most times, the commentary said "player x drives to the basket" or something to that effect. As you can see, that worked very well until their coach shifted their tactics at half time. I should note that my team has great passing all around, and medium-high driving (no one has bad driving).

Just for the sake of discrediting you? Dude, you played against 2-3 defense! Isn't this enough reason to call your game irrelevant to the discussion?? You two have equal teams, he's not stronger than you! I replied to you only because you sounded like you know what you are talking about, giving advices left and right about all kind of stuff regarding Patient, based on ONE game against 2-3 defense. Maybe you were playing Patient more than this one time, but anyway, dude, this is your 2nd season. Because you won that one game that is winnable by almost any tactic, you aren't guru of Patient all of sudden. Because you sure sound like you are.

Just an update - I see people mention that it is the JS mismatch that is searched for in patient, I am certain this isn't the case.

I bought a new PG who is worse in every single offensive skill than my old SG patient offense focal point (who I played out of position) EXCEPT for passing.

This PG has unfortunately now decided he must take the majority of shots in games and has subsequently ruined my team until I upgrade my old SG.

From:
(39032818) (four man team, during changeover in PG, ~180k salaries vs ~260k)

Very effective offense, allowed me to beat "better" teams, but your team has to be built for it correctly.

But how can opponent's high OD negate your Patient go-to player if he plays at PF or C spot?
