I wonder how much the IS influences on the SG´s shots when he drives to the basket. If it has more than marginal effect, would it be wise to have decent "Driving" with bad IS? I have never trained my guards in IS as it takes really long and you have to put them on the wrong positions. I doubt though that that is the way BB calculates drives and layups from guards.

That's a question i've asked myself for quite a while too, unfortunately there are no data out there or at least none which I heard of. But from my personal experience I can tell I have a guard with now prolific driving and atrocious IS and he misses an awful lot of layups... Is there someone who can say something reliable about this?

I have a SG with IS 10 on my team and when playing inside tactics a lot of his attempts are dunks and layups - anyway this doesn't seem to help the FG% anyway...

with my own squad, i fail to recognize the effect of it, and i got a long time a is 7 and a one guard who have quite similiar offensiv skills.

But maybe if we watch the other extreme like him -> (9335399) (this dude plays often as a guard for training porpose even in competive matches), it seems to be working even when i have no cluee about his driving, js and Jr(but i think he is weaker then a normal guard there).

edit: my dude (4595070) will maybe get some games as a guard too, but till now he only have a 4-6 Shooting performance in 36 minutes against real competition(the game with the 10 in rating).

He'd probably have a really good % from 2-point-land but he wouldn't even reach the basket when he shoots from beyond the arc.

We have both said a lot of things that you are going to regret.

so what would happen if someone had a SG with legendary jump shot and atrocious jump range (or vice versa). Wouldn't that even out to making him about a proficient or prominent shooter?

Such a player would be listed as SF in this game.

I have 2 guards with JR11, one has JS 15 the other one 20+.

Their performance is quite similar both for FG% and 3P%. The one with higher shooting abilities takes more shots (though I have to say he has a little more driving & flow skills also).
