I would add to GM-Soel'sexplenation that:
depending on the play-making skills of your Ball-Handler (probably the PG), the C or PF should never get the ball outside the bucket with the shot-clock being so low. And what the *&&*^ is your C/PF doing outside on an offense which is supposed to be LI or LP?
So : a "PG who's not that good" and a "PF/C who is not that good" = a situation where the PF/C will shoot from beyond the arc
And like Soel says at the end of his post: As your players get better, this kind of thing will not happen anymore.
