A good season? Yes.
Good enough? Maybe not for the demanding Canadian citizens and media.
This National Team Season ended for Canada as they fell to Ukraine 73-106. They finished with a 5-4 record in competitive games. A few questionable decisions by Coach Z including being called out by three Naismith managers summed up the disappointing season for the Canadians.
When things go wrong, we all want to blame someone and Zmtomako was unfortunately the victim of harsh criticisms. He is a Division II manager so he was definitely not the most experienced we could have had but he did good following the surprising departure of Greerzilla.
Tommy Germain finsihed the season with the most assists(35), Herman Kearns led in points(125) and Momar Maja led the team with 74 rebounds.

He is actually a Naismith manager who yielded some votes(5 I think I don't feel like going to get the actual amount) from Greerzilla so Canada definitely had some belief in Zmtomako. In this instance it was more of RL getting in the way of BB for Zmtomako. I mean he just needs to get his priorities sorted... RL over BB!?!? What is wrong with you Z? ;)

Edit: I know you put time and effort into making these and Canada appreciates it, but Canada appreciates it a lot more if you put time and effort into something that is accurate. Sorry that it sounds like I'm always bagging you.

You wrote for the NT for the entire season and still don't realize that Zmtomako is currently in his 2nd season in Naismith? ;)

Zmtomako had his ups and downs but kudos to him for taking over the National Team on such short notice.

I managed to strike an interview with Coco, U.S.A's NT Manager and asked him a few questions. Here are some excerpts from the interview:

> What do you think of the Canadian NT?

My thought has always been that it's good that Canada is such a small country. Because for a long time they have had some of the smartest managers in BB, so if you guys also had a deep pool of players, it would be bad news for us.

> How can we improve onsite and offsite performance and participation?

Actually, I have no idea! I always wanted to improve participation, ever since I was U21 coach way back in season 7 or so. But I was never all that successful. Then jfarb came along, and he can just get people to come and join. He is truly sensational that way.

> How do you build a successful team and NT?

Well, I didn't do it at the same time. My club team was good for a long time (I got four championships in five seasons in seasons 14-18), but when I got elected NT coach, I stepped off the gas. I now use my team to host some expensive americans and traing some younger players. I still try to be competitive, but I am not *designed* for it.

As for how to build a successful club team, I like to stockpile passing and defense.

As for the NT, I'm still struggling with this one. Our NT was a bit unlucky this season, but I think you need to get every possible advantage (ideally you'd want capped players to get FT training, for example) and avoid mega-foulers.

> What do you think Canada can be in the next few years?

You know, I actually don't know. It's very difficult to be a small country and have a successful NT. You will need a lot of managers who are dedicated to the NT, in order to catch up with USA, Chile and to a lesser degree Uruguay and Argentina

He only got two votes. So one person other than himself had belief in Z. Ocho Cinco was second with 15.

I actually didn't even vote for myself when I ran
Greerzilla was obviously the better choice

One of the most attractive features of the new offsite forum, English Communities United is the newspaper. The founder of the forum, GM-Revo a.k.a Athrun Zala explains why you won't want to miss out on it:

The newspaper has several goals. IF i'd have to name a couple,I'd say that there are 3 main goals.

The first would be to give people a review of the seasons of there representative teams ( both U21 and NT) as well as the top divisions and cup tourney of there country. It's always fun to read a bit about how things went on in your top division, and it also invites people to discuss it. They'll have more information, with possible some inside information from Head coach or staff, which will keep them more informed in which direction there representative teams are moving. It also gives you a chance to get more involved and share your opinions on the representative teams. The representative teams staff often works to their best capabilities to get the best possible results for the country. Feedback is often a welcome thing especially if you've done well. Many people tend to judge representative coaches by the results they achieve, but they forget about all the work that is done for the future generations. If more people are involved, then results will end up better because Staff know that there efforts are greatly appreciated and followed by many. There is nothing more frustrating than to work hard for a community that is seemingly indifferent to the amount of effort you are putting in for them.
The second goal is to promote more activity within the communities. Therefor, a review of the top divisions of each ECU community has been included. Hopefully, more people will be interested in contributing in the communities in general, so that more information can be shared, which ultimately leads to playing this game to it's full extend. BB isn't just a basketball simulation game anymore. In a lot of countries, there is a community part of the game too. Of course, the manager has a choice if he wants to take part in the community discussions, but it's pretty surprising considering how very few are active in the ECU communities. Most of them are active in Help threads, but it's always fun to have an own active community.
And the 3rd major goal, is to create a spot where information can be shared with for all. I know that France has a great information exchange forum, where a lot of interesting research happens and i'm assuming that the other large communities, such as Italian, Spanish, American and Chinese communities, just to name a few, have got a similar way to share information. However, it would be unfair not to share information with the slightly smaller communities, which each of ECU's current communities is part off.
The 3rd goal is to share information with others, and what would be the best way to share it with communities than by using a 'newspaper'? Hence, the interviews are included, which will feature some of BB's finest managers, asking them specific questions about certain items that hopefully, will be able to help the new managers who are aiming for the top, achieve their goals a bit faster because they have the input of veteran experience managers. If everyone has to learn things by trial and error, then it will take forever for a team from IV to reach there nations top leagues. Hopefully, by reading interviews with BB's finest, they'll pick up a few things that could speed up there process of moving up (or train the ultimate superstar. Cause not all managers are aiming for the top divisions. Some want to train players in the best possible way). So hopefully, this newspaper will be a place that gathers tips and invites people to take part in discussions so that others learn more about this great game.

Those are the 3 main goals behind this newspaper. Some extra funny things will be added to the newspaper to make things fun, such as places to honor the greats of the community etc. But if you truly want to

learn more about the newspaper, i suggest you read it for yourself once it's published. It will probably be much more fun that way, than to give away all the spoils here and now ;)

I might be in purgatory on the new offsite forum. I don't have permission to post in the introduction forums (to apply for the main site) and I don't see any steps that I'm missing for registration. Also, when I hit "resend validation information" it says my account doesn't need to be confirmed.

It's 2:13 AM and all I want to do is register for an offsite forum for a basketball MMO game on said basketball MMO game's forum. This is perfectly cromulent behaviour.

edit: I'm also having a hell of a time finding these new offsite forums. I was months late on the last one and apparently I'm months late on this one. Maybe someone should make a thread about the new forum. Someone like me could do that.

I think Bballin has to validate your registration first.
