This NT is cursed. Just absolutely cursed.

We lost to Kazakhstan in a game we absolutely needed to win. We were up 108-106 with 7 seconds left. Could've been a 3 point lead, but Clitheroe, who was perfect from the FT line, missed the last one. Naturally Kazakhstan hit a "very long three-point attempt" at the buzzer to win. 109-108. I'm so upset about this I can't even explain it. (11259)

We dominated them in the matchup ratings. We had home court. We had better offensive team ratings and even defensive and rebounding team ratings. But we are doomed to lose every game that matters. We've now lost by 4, 5, and 1 point this season. Last qualifying round we lost by 3, 2, 10, and 11. Ridiculous.

We still have a shot though. Taiwan, Kazak, and us are 2-2. Two out of three of us will advance and we have a 48 point PD advantage over Kazak, and play the same opponents, but my spirit is broken right now so I'm sure we'll lose the PD tiebreaker by like 2 points or something.

Unlucky. Keep your hopes up bro. We can still get into the next round. We do have home court advantage in both games even if Taiwan has been given home court but its our country and who wouldn't want NZ to win.

Unlucky man. Looking at the ratings it seems like we did get a bit ripped off but sometimes in sport the best team on the day does finish 2nd :(

excuse me for my victory.
Forget about ratings. In this game they do not solve anything. solve the confrontation of specific players. After analyzing your games, I put at SG the player who decided the outcome of the meeting.
If we win on your court with the same attitude, then that day we have been stronger.
do not be discouraged. you have a better position than we.

after staring at that post..... i'll try to make sense of it.

i'll put it in another word =D

"Sorry that i've just kick your ass!!

let me enlighten you pitiful kiwis.... ratings means Jack shit... i've been secretly scouting your NT player. after some careful analysis, i place certain "someone" at SG, who happen to be the deciding factor of the game....."

"If we win on your court with the same attitude, then that day we have been stronger." - i dont understand this

"do not be discouraged. you have a better position than we." self explained.

excuse me for my message.

Seeing as your such a tactical genius, you probably should of tactically thought about something to do today that didn't make you seem so arrogant!

do not be discouraged.

Yes, quite a shock that your SG in proficient GS would lead your team in scoring in a Run and Gun offense. Never thought that would happen.

He was lined up against my SG who in 10 fewer minutes had better shooting %, free throw %, much better 3 point %, more rebounds, more assists, less turnovers, and a higher rating by 2.5 points. Your guy certainly confronted him well ;-) If he wasn't in foul trouble the whole first half, the game would've been a lot different because he was on fire.

It's fine that you beat us, congratulations on doing so. You were 1 second from losing. We're extremely even teams. You won because you hit 50% of your threes and we only hit 25%, and my guards got in early foul trouble and we couldn't recover. Oh well. Good luck the rest of the way.

As expected, we got smoked by Taiwan, 117-81. Here's the box score: (11262). The final week of pool play will be quite interesting though.

We take on the powerhouse undefeated Philippines. They've already clinched first place so at least they'll be TIE'ing. Taiwan and Malaysia are each 3-2 and will likely advance. Now here's the fun part. NZ and Kazakhstan are 2-3, and India is finished at 2-4. We have a +67 point differential on Kazakhstan (who plays Taiwan). However we only have a +11 differential on India.

So our scenarios to advance:
- Beat the Philippines (ha!)
- We lose by less than 11 points and Kazak loses to Taiwan

So it'll be very tough. It would be annoying to lose on point differential considering our close losses and also since we beat India, but it is what it is. I actually expect Kazak to win since they'll certainly CT and Taiwan will likely TIE. That would eliminate us unless we somehow beat the Philippines. So say a little prayer for the NT next Monday!
