Maybe its like the NBA where everyone just travels to the basket.

R&G is an interesting offense. Point guard by far will be the most important player on the team, and high ball handling is a must. He also should be at least close to as good of shooter as your SG and a mid to good passer. High jump range is essential(Keeping JS 2 or 3 higher than JR will make the offense lethal) as JR heavily boosts Outside shooting in the game ratings when using R&G(not so much when using Motion)

So until I get my jump range up to where I need it I would be better off using motion?

For your PG and SG I'd say yes. Prolific - Strong, Sensational- Proficient is good for D4.

However, you do have to dribble when driving

Have you ever watched an NBA game? Those guys NEVER dribble when they attack the basket. Four, five steps and traveling is rarely called, particularly if you are a star whose 'move' involves walking with the ball. :)

I think you are looking for too close a match between reality and the game engine. DRIVING is more the ability to create your own shot. I say that because GMs have said it impacts jump shots. HANDLING seems to be used for turnover prevention, while PASSING is a skill that adds to the chance a teammate will make a shot.

I'm fairly certain they dribble the majority of times they attack the basket. Sure some get away with travels on occasion, but it's not as frequent as your are foolishly suggesting.

Not entirely true I used to run a very successful run and gun before i hade a true pg and he had low jump range, i say sg is most important for this tactic

Depends at what level you play.
Obviosuly respectable isn't enough in div 1.

At my level, I would say that JS 12, JR 9 would do well in Run and Gun.
