Can anyone recommend a good logo creating/editing tool? I would like a new logo and banner but it seems a bit audacious to simply demand one. There's a lot of good work out there and I'd like to update mine.

There are several options. You can try from Photoshop to Paint, which is very easy to use.

A gif file. I'm not sure what the best program is to assemble one though. All I know is that it's a collection of images programed to play in a certain order and then loop. Maybe someone else knows a good program?

As lampchos said it´s a gif file. I used Microsoft Gif Animator(for free) to do it. First i downloaded the video and then i made it to loop, but you can choose different images and assemble them. I´m amateur:)
