Nippon vs. Australia 0 - 25 (21669)
21610 fans made their way to the B-walker Center to witness Australia and Japan's second encounter of this Asia Championships. Australia was fired up and ready to go. Although to their utter surprise during the pre-game warm ups, Japan was no where to be seen. Fans were outraged and ready to burn the Japanese flags along with a Japanese coach effigy. Knowing that this game had turned into a walkover, the Australian players calmed the crazy fans down by having a lucky fan night where they played against some of the Australian legends.

Semi final match against Hong Kong is tonight. I'll make further changes after training update. It's a very important match as whoever wins will get an automatic berth into the next world cup. Tactics are up on the off-site forum.

Might be a bit of a late start given training hasn't happened on schedule

Sorry boys and gals. We had a very bad last quarter, losing 30-19. I think Hong Kong lucked out on us tonight as well. We had better team ratings and won all 5 position in points per 100 shots. But congratulations to them in beating us.

Should've played Princeton :P. I believe you said something along the lines of it being the greatest tactic of all time?
PRINCETON >>>>> LOOK INSIDE + 3-2 ZONE

Jokes aside, I am quite shocked at the result. In any other manager game I wouldn't have been surprised at all because it's amazing how often bad teams beat good ones in games like MZ and TM, but to see a simming happen in BB is quite a surprise because as far as I've seen, luck rarely if ever plays a role in the match engine in BB, especially when you win the matchup ratings in all 5 positions like that.

I HAVE FURY!

Hong Kong vs. Australia 103 - 97 (21942)
A long awaited semi-finals for both nations. Winners would automatically qualify for the world cup while losers will see them facing a difficult route of second chance qualifiers for the world cup. There was nothing in the game right from the word go. Both teams wanted to win and was extremely tight all the way until near the end of the third quarter were Australia were able to break away to a 5 point lead just before the final break. Australia continued their momentum from the end of the third quarter right at the fourth quarter to build up a 9 point lead. Hong Kong would call a crucial time out right after an emphatic dunk by Vidas (13436509) off another Walker (14845673) assist.

The time out would turn the momentum in Hong Kong's favour where they drew level with a 13-4 run. It was back and forth buckets for three and a half minutes. With sixteen seconds remaining, Australia down by two had a chance to win the game. However a surprisingly early shot was made by the Australians with Lakhin (13435558) taking a strong inside shot to draw level which went in and out. The game was over as Hong Kong was able to grab the rebound and were fouled. They made their clutch free throws and Australia could do nothing to comeback. At the end of the match, Australia's legendary small forward Wazza (6863683) was seen in tears. Knowing this season will probably be his last in national colours, the fans gave him a final ovation.

This loss marks the end of Australia's run and were unable to defend their Asia Championship crown. They now face an extremely tall task to go through the world cup via the second chance qualifiers.
