all the NT's are limited to use players who belong to active teams. when a team formerly controlled by a human manager becomes a bot, all the players who are part of a national team or are above a certain salary threshold are released as free agents.
this situation is not going to change. I had to survive with 3 (not-so-)active teams in Al-Jazair last season and — heck, I can feel your pain, but this allows us to plan ahead and grow countries as we see fit without worrying about the interference of said activity with NT situations.
think about it: until last season Brazil and Usa were the same size as Italy and Spain. this season, Italy and Spain got the sixth division. if we allowed Italy and Spain NT to draw players from the extra umpteen teams we've created in the process, we'd have given an unfair advantage to these two NTs. basically every single action concerned with growing or shrinking countries would have to deal with this problem, and that's simply not practical. we feel that the strength of a NT must be linked to how many users sign up, not to how many users we think may sign up in the upcoming three months…
