Forgive me for being a bit upset that I find that there are arrangements being made in a game that is supposed to be competitive. I have a few friends that play, and honestly if and when we ever do run into each other you can bet that there will be no arrangements, we are probably both going to let it all hang out for some bragging rights. Its called pride, its called a competitive spirit. If you dont think your team is good enough to beat another team you go crying to your cohorts and ask them for help? Sorry, I was always a fan of a fair fight, yeah I may have come from away from a few with a black eye and some bruises, but I learned and next time got a little quicker and a few better shots in. Im not the type when I get beat, I go back and get 10 of my friends and gang up on a guy, I get in there and prove my worth.

So then....

Anybody up for a little mutual 'Take it Easy?'

I just play TIE every game no matter what. I guess I'm not much for strategy. I just keep hoping that when I have lost enough games people will then TIE me because I am an automatic win for them regardless. Chalk one up for the passive-aggressive mutual TIE.

WFU03,
I had to take a legal ethics class as well in Law school, but steered clear of them otherwise. Classroom discussion sounded a bit too much like this thread for my taste. Bleeding hearts from all sides but not a sound argument to be found.

Ok, I'll say it.

I started playing BB last season, and I made some calculations about my teams economy. Right now my outcome is about 100k, my income is about 120k. So, it's a balanced income. Counting on some arena public downsize when I lose, it's not left much of it. I was able to put some pieces together from the 3 weeks 50k extra income (enjoy some bargains in the market) but it didn't left much of it. So, I have an OK team for my level. I'm in the 4th division of my country, made my arena bigger and been able to stick with the price raises of the players and reached the numbers I said. I don't know how much I will get if I move to the higher league, but I don't predict having a growth to take my team to the next level in the next 4 seasons. And by that time, I will have to change the players. So I will be stuck on this level forever. The teams that started the game earlier effectively have the advantage. And I've got to give it up for the guy who started the post, even with the extra training minutes (that in my opinion may do some serious damage to the teams on the top) is not enough for the teams from below to advance.
At least this is my view from the game. Because, even if I wanted to spend money to buy one of those 11k week salary player, that would affect my team's economic balance. And I don't know if the higher league pays the difference to get better players.
So, in my opinion. Having low level rich teams like HT (mine has a 10k solid week income without a home match) is the way to have competitive low level leagues. Because, when they feel ready they will fight for the top! Personally, i think this might be my HT's team year to do so (one million on the wallet and in the 9th league) :P

Weird, cause I have two friends that joined and started in IV:

(23041) - Promoted her first season, and looking pretty good in III already.

(23180) - Promoted his second season, also looking pretty good in III already.

Maybe if some people spent as much time improving their team as complaining they'd be further along. Everyone seems to want success served on a platter.

If I edit my previous post to remove the reference to mutual ties, will this all go away?

Honestly, I wish to know how Potros Midway is economically. Because he has some very expensive players (I'm in the same position as him, only lost one game in the league and still in the cup). My arena is bigger. But he has some high prices (when I did the maths it didn't compensate to have free seats at the arena).
For curiosity, what's his weekly economic balance?

I know both those teams started with pretty poor teams, took what they had (1 or 2 trainable players), added 1 or 2 more, and trained them efficiently.

Potros made most his money on one player who he bought for 90k, trained him up and then sold for 2.8m. Then took that money to add a bunch of good players to solidify his lineup.

No trading, no extra bags of money, they started in similar if not the same situation.

Strangely enough - that is not far from the email I received. They must have used this as a template. Thanks for sharing.

Yep, I offered you a mutual tie in our cup game, as you were playing the #1 team (Myopic Marauders) the following league game. He won, edged you out for home court in the finals by 1 game, and ended up promoting.

If i was you, id have focused on that league game (looks like he ct'd your normal), and maybe things would have turned out diff, with or without a tie in our game.

Feel free to keep overstating the effect and calling cheating on something which is within the rules. Steroids are illegal in the US, no matter what MLB did or didn't do about it. To those that are invoking it, thats a crap analogy.

And for those too lazy to read back, I agree about the enthusiasm system, tie's are lame. But, thats the game and these are the current rules. Please redirect your criticism of this to the suggestions thread.
