After much deliberation here is the presentation of the game ball from the Australia v Canada scrimmage.

......drum roll....

After much thought im giving it to Will Johnson of the Guanzheng Goldfish. Even though Johnson isnt an allround SF he is filling in admirably as our starter in the position and scored 17 points on 8-20 shooting whilst having 4 assists, 2 rebounds and a steal....

Happy now mr leeroy jenkins? :-p

Well done Big Fish.

@ Leeroy, can we create a new award (don't know what we can call it) for the worst player! I'd like to nominate Dogan as the first recipient (for his game tonight against UAE). Don't know what is going on with him...seems to be overawed by the big occassions I think. He can dominate league games (yes I know, it's only Div III lol) but can't pass or shoot to save himself at the moment. Maybe I should sell him and cut my losses now; no point training up a choker!

Ouch! lol

Yeah, was joking about the selling Dogan part but it is a little frustrating at present. And yeah, nice to see him start but I want him to deserve it! If he gets the opportunity to start I want him to show he deserved it. Tonight's game was the opposite. It's as if he's one of those high salary po rookies who thinks he is owed something rather than having to earn it and pay his dues.

@ Tremell, good call with the big willy getting the nod. Well deserved. Dogan called him to congratulate him by phone earlier today and received nothing but a 'bloop' in reply.

Great work Leeroy and tremell for the excellent win tonight over UAE. No doubt Yu Fuhao is getting the game ball this time. Funny seeing a $25,000 allstar being so dominant I think we had multiple $40-50,000 guards a couple of seasons ago. It was a brilliant night for Yu Fuhao hitting 15/21 for 35 points against the 1-3-1 zone was impressve. Odd that outside of him, Will Johnson and the very odd Aandarasan Gunasekar a center who played a bit of PG and put up big numbers in garbage time no-one else scored over 8.

One shout out is to our big men Scroggins, Jolly and Lonergan. While they didn't get many shots they hit an impressive 9/12 combined, just a little more efficient than our SG combination of Dogan and Griffith who managed 4/27. But those three bigs dominated the rebounds helping us have a massive 63-38 rebounding advantage one reason we won so well.

Oh wow I've been slack!

Round 3

Australia U21 vs. U.A.E. U21 97 - 49 (19878)

In this game we tried our hand at motion, and with the state of some of our guards I'm quite happy at the result. Obviously the offensive flow is sub-par but that's to be expected (especially when Dogan had average passing). This is a pretty obvious winner as we had 1 standout in that game. He puts the Yu in Yum, of course the game ball goes to our resident combo guard Yu Fuhao. He absolutely tore the defense a new one racking up 35 points on 70% shooting with 6 assists and 4 rebounds thrown into the mix. The game ball along with a get well soon card signed by the team was sent to Yu's current address in hopes he would have a speedy recovery and get in good shape before our finals series.

Round 4

Malaysia U21 vs. Australia U21 77 - 101 (19880)

Another great learning game for us as a team, playing against our next biggest challenge in our draft pool in Malaysia. We tried our hand at Look Inside with some great success, V.V and Scoggins showed why they were selected in this season U21 squad. I'd like to make an honorable mention for Will Johnson who played his first game outside the SF position showing his diversity making 9 assists from the Shooting Guard position and keeping his man to 2-15 shooting from the field! However this game was all about efficiency on both ends of the floor so without further a do I'd like to present the game ball to the man who lives by alliteration.... V.V! This fiend shot 83% from the floor, hit all of his free throws racking up 24 points and 10 rebounds (and 2 TO but that's forgiven), add to this his prowess on the defensive end keeping his opposing starting PF to 5-12 shooting for another great performance. Congratulations again to him and his manager Ljuboo of Red Star Baywater.
