I just want to notice that non-supporters can't read/write in Federations ;)

(but I'm here, awaiting for games ^^)

Ahh...you are correct. Okay, the Federation won't work then.

Thanks, dewars.

The creation of a Federation could be another way to organise this?
Again, as a Supporter, I am willing to do this. However, I just discovered that LOPO has more recent experience creating Federations; something I have not done for over 20 seasons!

I'm sure we can come up with some way of having the BBHG begin.

I was also thinking about creating a Homegrown federation for any homegrown team (even those who are playing another private leagues like myself).

What do you think about creating this federation where you can organize the homegrown league? I don't know if you are ok with this solution or you prefer to keep the homegrown league on his own federation.
Tell me if you agree with this. I can create the federation and then give you and Wagner admin privileges.

Hey there, LOPO.

I'm very happy with you creating it. Do you need to have Supporter to access it? I have supporter but I don't think Wagner does.

I know you need to have Supporter to create a Federation, but what about accessing it?

So...
about Sumo system © demars ( )
- For the very beginning, I think the salarial mass is the most objective way.
- Then, at the end of first season, we take the X best for next S2 League1, and the others for S2 League2
- 2 divs, if there are too few teams is not a good thing because we'll have to play against the same teams twice or more, and because we won't play against all teams.
- there are 14 weeks. If we are 12, we can play against all teams (11 games) + semi-finals + finals -> 13 weeks (or keeping the 2-3 weeks for tie-breakers).

- 1 div / 2 divs ?
It all depends of how many teams will play.
Personnaly, I think that we shoudn't put Utopia & Main teams in the same League. They should play apart.

Hi there, demars. I am also a Primary School Teacher :-)

I think your original Sumo system format (or something very close to it) is the one we should go with.

A tentative plan:

1. We aim to start the inaugural BBHG League at the start of Season 68. (LOCK IT IN)
2. We already have 13 teams (see list below) who have commented in this thread about their interest in being in the upcoming inaugural BBHG. We could lock these 13 teams in now, recruit 1 more, and begin setting up the division (or 2) and create a schedule. 14 teams might work well. Every team plays every other team over 13 weeks on 'neutral' courts (PickUp games) (no need to worry about home/away) and this will still leave us time to play finals (format to be finalised).
3. Any other teams that come along and show interest can be added to a waiting list ready for Season 2 of the BBHG.

At present, we have the following teams who have clearly stated in this thread that they wish to play in the upcoming BBHG:

Eliocroca CB (141176) Manager: LOPO
Wagner College (172501) Manager: Wagner
Les Gueux du Marais (86508) Manager: Coach Faz
Elan Demars (87312) Manager: demars confirmed
NakamichiDragons (34515) Manager: LA-flaterik123
Holy City Hoopers (23767) Manager: Gccsteel
Buckner Bandits (23579) Manager: T-Lit
Madrid Chotis (76877) Manager: Jotadoce
WiMaOlca (35977) Manager: WiMaOl
Rajdersi (237760) Manager: Paul George
Santa Eufemia Ducks (24340) Manager: GM-Enzo
Swan River Serpents (197075) Manager: MrJ confirmed
Lielupes Melnas Sirdis (146915) Manager: Moneta ???

4. If we have all of these teams confirm they are still interested and will be 100% HG and ready to go by the start of Season 68...we can start getting the schedule organised?!

5. By the end of this first BBHG League, we will have a ranking for each team which can guide the following season's structure.

Thoughts?

Is there an ideal number of teams in your opinion? I read your previous comments...would 14 work? Is 16 better?

I'm not wanting to offend anyone here, but the name of this League we are creating (BBHG) isn't exactly enticing

I'm wondering (and we have the rest of the season to decide this small point) if we might think of a catchier name, one that anyone in BB who comes across these threads or hears the name, will remember it easier than BBHG or BBHGL?

Even Home-Grown Heroes would, imo, be better than the initials we currently have.

I'm just putting the idea out there; I'm happy to go with whatever we choose. I guess I'm just thinking that if this HG League becomes popular and well-known, in time, the name might matter.

Just a thought...

In the interest of keeping things moving along, I have tentatively begun to flesh-out possible Information, Rules and Penalties for our league. Please read below and provide your thoughts, ideas and/or comments. Obviously, these are just draft ideas intended to get us closer to a finalised product ready to start in Season 68. You will find I have created some additional forum information (linked) to guide the prospective competitor. I have also provided some general information. Again, this is ALL draft so feel free to provide criticism etc.

INFORMATION:

Given that the League's success relies on the consistent organising of weekly PU games, it is crucial that all competing teams understand some important aspects of the schedule and adhere to them as perfectly as possible.

For example, the great thing about PU games is they can be scheduled at any time. However, given that the teams participating in this league come from different countries, there may be time differences for Game Shape updates each week. Therefore, a game between two teams should take this into consideration before playing one another.

Each scheduled matchup should be played as early in the week as possible. This will allow enough time for all the results to be passed on and updated for all to see. It may be better if both teams bbmail their results to the organiser rather than post in the forum. In this way, any teams who were wishing to watch a match already completed, don't accidentally see the results before they have an opportunity to watch it. At the completion of each matchups, BOTH teams are to pass on the results. This will ensure that at the very least (if only one team remembers to do it) that the results are forwarded, or (if both do it) then confirmation that the results are accurate eventuate.

It may prove beneficial to have a set day of the week every week when the PU games will take place. This will remove the possibility of a team issuing a challenge which doesn't provide their opponent enough time to fairly set a lineup. A Monday might be the best day given no games of any kind are scheduled by BB at this time?

Each week, one of the two teams competing in a matchup will have some kind of visual note that means it is their responsibility to issue the PU challenge. This will be done evenly across the competition.

RULES:

1. A team must be 100% Home-Grown.
What is a Home-Grown Team? (326328.1)
2. A team must field a minimum of 5 players in a Matchup.
3. A team needs to be familiar with how PickUp (PU) Games and Tokens work.
PickUp Games HOW TO (326327.1)
4. It is the responsibility of BOTH teams to bbmail the results of their weekly scheduled game to the Organiser.

PENALTIES:

1. To ensure the fairest contests, any team responsible for issuing the PU challenges who does not select the 'neutral' arena for the matchup, automatically loses the match with a 0-50 point difference. No other penalties apply.
2. If, for whatever reason, a team does not have a token and it is their turn to issue the challenge, they can simply negotiate this with their opponent. In the event that neither team has a token, both teams will receive a penalty? Or, the issuing team?
3. In the event that a team fields a non-HG player, their team will receive an automatic 0-50 point Loss and an asterix next to their name, similarly to that used by BB to denote forfeits. This will be both a results penalty and a visual penalty, signalling to all other teams that this particular team has already broken the rules. That team, which would theoretically no longer be a HG Team, has until the start of the following PU to have their team return to being a 100% HG Team. Failure to do so would see them receiving an automatic loss for each subsequent game until their team returns to being HG.
