Why is everybody talking about stars? Isn't the "Grade Rating" the most important information??
The way I see it, the grade rating is(by far) no. 1, the potential is no. 2 and the Star Rating is no. 3.
Does anyone agree, or am I far out???

star rating is better for positions you don't plan on training...but if you train a certain position you want them to have a high potential otherwise you're just wasting your time.

OK, but it's still relative, right?
I mean, A player who has a A- rating, but only a 2 star potential, should be better than a player with a C rating and 5-star potential. Unless you train the latter for 2-4 years...

I've got a 5* with 5 potential on my list. He'll be my top target but since I'm drafting 15th, I probably won't get him and he's a centre. However, I am guaranteed a 5* player because I can see 15 of them, which is a very nice surprise.

This new draft system is excellent. I like having a box score for each scouted player and a position played, and I have lots of decisions to make (eg. do I take a SF and hope I can train him at SG?).

when i look at the players i scouted twice (7 players), the grade rating is exactly the same as the star rating. 5 stars = A, 4 stars = B, 3 stars = C, 2 stars = D. the grad rating only differs with the plusminus given to the letter. so, in my case, the grades do not give new ratings, but they confirm all the star ratings.

You're right!
I hadn't noticed that. Well that brings me down a bit. I thought I had a lot of extra info, but it turns out that the Grade Rating doesn't give me much extra. Especially because the ones with A- or B- sometimes have better potential than the others, which makes the tos somewhat of a Toss-up.

therefore you should look at what you need for next season. if you train C/PF and your PG/SG/SF positions suck then draft a A+ player with a 5-star rating in those positions. if you want to train players and buy a player with skills you can see in the transfer market then start to weigh what is too low for a star rating/grade rating. i'll be working with the second option since training players brings in more money on the transfer market.

Interesting option:
SG - 5star A+ 4star potential (sucked at his game)
SG - 5star A- 4star potential (did pretty good at his game)

Who would you guys pick?

Oh, and I agree with the guy that said the level of the draftees seems to be higher.

I scouted 34 players. 14 5 stars and 9 4 stars.
Seems like a lot.
I recall last season having scouted something like 9 5 stars, and I spent way more money on scouting last season.

Cross-posting this from the NBBA forum:

Only criticism for the new draft system is that if you're going to call a player in for a training session, that they be better than 2 or 3.

I have potential info on 11 players and 5 of them were rated 2/3 before coming in for team training. Kind of a waste. Even better would be if you got to choose the few that could be called in for training.
