Haha well I was struggling between SBBL and the lower leagues for many years in the early days, and wasn't among the really active ones in forum I guess. Ben will forever be the legend but SG is lucky to have you join us and I'm glad you are continuing to take the team further.

Hahaha, now you're one of the more active ones here, plus a major contributor to our U21 :D

Anyway, we got kicked out of the Consolation Tournament this morning after being thrashed 61-101 by Turkey U21. With PH being the only Asian country making it to the next round (Argentina U21 is giving our neighbours a beating as we speak), looks like we'll be having the Asia Qualifiers there this year.

This season was really riddled by inconsistencied throughout the whole season, at this point we only have 2 players who have showed up every single game: Poh Sze Jian and Anthony Samuel. Albert Joseph, Kwa Ming, and Leow Heng Dong were close as they missed one game each. The rest missed at least 3 games.

Moving forwards, I'll probably keep the 5 above, including some potential NT players, while dropping the rest so I can start scouting for next season.

You've done magic with SG U21, I can't begin to imagine the time effort put into it. Battling motivation to commit long term, during a time where instant action and progression looks to be the norm, is quite rare to came across.

The draft this year looks stacked so far, so I am hopeful we get some superstars for our U21 team this season

Oh this is great to hear! I hope everyone who has empty space gets good prospects! Especially Nickyeo, who has been tanking. Hahaha. He's gonna be the 4th overall pick. Let's hope the bot teams ahead of him don't steal any prospects out of his hands. Hopefully there's also enough 5* potentials that drop onto top teams looking for prospects. I will not be scouting this season as I won't have any place for a new trainee. Maybe next season, if I manage to complete my current project. Hopefully there will be a decent haul then!

With atrocious enthusiasm due to scouting, I never expected to win this one. Of course, we were assisted by a few of our 21 year olds, but most of the squad consisted of next season's players. It also helped that we were tactically superior, matching their Motion with 3-2 (although the results isn't exactly the best as they shot 35% from 3) while they used FCP against us (I think this was the deal breaker because FCP is horrible against teams with decent offensive flow and we had less turnovers than them and equal steals as them).

Kwa Ming showed that he was ready to lead the team for next season by posting 33 points 7 assists and 4 rebounds on 72% shooting (he was perfect from 3 and from the charity stripe). However he has always been a streaky shooter, so let's hope he keeps it up. Ong Jian Shi also had a dream debut, picking up a triple double with 11 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. He was also strong on defense, blocking 2 shots. Sim Chuan Dong also performed admirably in his debut, putting up 22 points on 50% shooting.

I'm still in the midst of scouting, so expect some changes throughout the season.

Nothing to be proud of. Going to Phuket on holiday messed up my timezone a bit that I forgot DST has taken effect, so by the time I logged in to send orders, the game already started. So we didn't get to showcase anymore new players this week, except for Seah Yew Shi, who hit 30 points and played all 53 minutes of game time despite having 4 fouls in the 2nd.

Poh Sze Jian dished out 15 assists today, making him only the 4th player to have at least15 assists in a game (Joe Henry achieved it twice). That makes it 90 assists for the season, putting him at joint 7th place in the season assists list, 16 behind leader Fan Ping Wai with 2 more games to go. It might be hard to top the list, but 2nd place is very much in sight as he is only 4 short. He is also 16 assists short of making the all-time assists list tho (he currently has 113 while the 10th place Tay Wee Teck has 128), so maybe that is extra motivation for him.

Hahaha I'm actually back. The weather was beautiful (although yea it was hot but you don't wanna have rainy weather in a beach island). I actually went because the tickets were pretty affordable (100++ per pax return trip), glad it was at the right time. Hahaha.

Remember last week when we talked about how Poh Sze Jian might have extra motivation? He sure had a lot of extra motivation as he put up 14 assists tonight, effectively putting him at 2nd on the season assist list. He only needs 3 assist in the next game to top it.

19 year old Thong Choon Lai had his debut tonight. A decent show with 8 points from 50% shooting. Meanwhile Sim Chuan Dong made a statement to show that he is ready to lead the offense with 33 points. That gives him 27.5 ppg in 2 games this season, which is pretty impressive. Ong Jian Shi also showed his defensive prowessness with 8 block! That was crazy! Is that a record high? I'm not sure because blocks aren't recorded in the U21 overview page. Hahaha.

We have one more scrimmage to go. Stay tuned for more action from our boys!
