Hey DylzzGotSkillzz23,

Just had a read of your speech and I just wanted to thank you for showing your interest in the role. From what you've written it seems like you haven't had too much of a background with the NT if any at all. I think your attitude is great however how do we know you'll follow through with what you've said? I see plenty of managers (less experienced mind you) promise many things yet fail to keep their end. Examples are a certain person who ran for U21 manager last season promising the world yet once he had lost the election did not once try and help out with the team.

I think my summary is, if you are interested in the NT manager spot you should approach the current one and learn from them as well as contribute to the Australian community. Just as Tremell approached myself and has been suggesting lineups, scouting, and be a shoulder to whinge upon.

This isn't really a question, just my outlook on the whole system.

Hey Leeroy,
First of all I'd like to thank you for the advice. I will definitely take this on board!
No I currently haven't had any experience with a NT but am willing to learn off Whitebeard (or whoever the next manager may be) if they are willing to do work with me. I will also be much more involved in the forums as my aspirations to improve myself as a manager have plateaued, in my eyes anyway.
As for the first paragraph, I can't prove straight away that I will keep my promise but over time, you will see that I have.
Again, I thank you for the advice. I look forward to working with you guys.

I have known The Victorian Allstars since season 11 and when I first joined division III he was one of the managers that I looked up to. He has certainly had his ups and downs as many of us (including me!) have and I feel that this is a great learning experience. I am pleased that he is keen to step up but as I have said before I feel that an apprenticeship either managing a smaller nation (as Coachnoodles, abigfishy, ezlife and I do) or assisting with the Australian team is a great first step.

Excellent to see you willing to put your hand up.

But this wouldn't be a debate thread without some debate. Guys what are you going to do to try and ensure that there is a future pipeline of NT standard players besides just wish and hope?

Well so far from last 2 seasons, I've made a thread in the BB forum (217586.1), updated both the offsite forum topic http://forum.buzzerbeaterstats.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&... and the Australian NT advertisement which details the generic requirements for each position. Of course they are not perfect but they are good guidelines for managers.

Other than that, the most important thing for the national coach to do is to follow up with managers in regards to their trainee via BB mail, BB chat, BB forum or offsite forum. There are some managers that you can trust to do their thing given their level of experience but there are others that you need to keep tabs on. However it is always good to follow up by letting them know what training they should focus on and how far they are off from future national selection. Of course not everybody are willing to respond to your messages. Some are willing to compromise, some prefer to train their own way while others prefer to not be bothered and you got to let them do their own thing. So at the end of the day you can only provide advice for these managers and hope they listen and follow your advice to ensure that the national level of standard doesn't fall. ;)

Although there are other ways as well. Sometimes the best way to contribute to the talent pool is for the national manager to take some responsibility by buying national players or future national players themselves and train them up themselves. Also if potential or current national players are on sale, it's always good to give heads up to fellow managers otherwise talent could be lost.

Thanks for that mate. Yeah I was hoping something along the lines of helping out with the current Australian NT so it gives me a full understanding of the players and strategies I'll need to deal with in the future.

Whitebeard, I have had a look at the National Australia Requirements and have a pretty decent understanding of this. Previously I have sent other NT managers BB mails in regarding to whether one of my players was good enough for the team. So I am also fully understanding of this process. I am willing to help out training young Australians as well. So Whitebeard, if you'll take me on board as an assistant it would be greatly appreciated and I will give you my best. A BB-mail with full detail of what you'll need would also be a huge help. Or here, whatever works. I look forward to hopefully working alongside you.

My question is... will you be bringing Wazza back into the team?

Your answer will determine where my vote goes btw... just saying.

Good point, and Barton. Looking at the NT I am not seeing that many guys with better than prodigious passing and defence. Why isn't Barton on the NT radar Whitebeard? Tyler Hare is there and he is a scrub!
