Anytime there is a change in the market that makes players less expensive teams that have saved money will benefit. That's a choice you make by holding on to money. That could also backfire if you hold on to money and player prices rise and then you have less buying power.
Either way, I don't think this will cause a huge decrease, if any, in player prices. It appears the goal of this return to free agency is to level off what has been very steep inflation.
