Kevin Durant - Pure scorer and is hard to slow down
Lebron James - almost impossibe to stop
Kobe Bryant - Has had a great career and has the rings to prove it
Dwyane Wade - Just a great overall player
Derrick Rose - Is having an MVP caliber season
Dwight Howard - Dominating defender and good on offense as well
Kevin Garnett - Can still score but isn't as good as he used to be
Russell Westbrook - His emergence makes OKC a harder team to beat
Dirk Nowitzki - Can still make a shot from anywhere on the court
LaMarcus Aldridge - Has a great midrange jumper and has really emerged this season

Just missed the cut (In no particular order)
Steve Nash - Still a great point guard
Kevin Love - On a different team he might not be getting so many po8nts and rebounds
Jason Kidd - above average shooter, passer, and rebounder for his position
Zach Randolph - Has found a new home in Memphis
Rajon Rondo - Can get assists easily but needs a more consistent jumpshot
Deron Williams - An overall great player
Amar'e Stoudemire - Doesn't get a ton of rebounds but is a dominant defender
Carmelo Anthony - Great scorer but NY has struggled since they got him
Josh Smith - Much larger offensive force this season and is tough on defense
Chris Paul - good scorer and good defender

I'm going to take this question as: "if you could redraft the NBA for just one season (this one), who would you take on your team" so past accomplishments don't really mean anything.

1. Lebron James - no explanation needed. I don't like him, I don't like the Heat, but he is just too damn good imo.

2. Dwight Howard - With the greater arsenal of offensive skills he's developing and his already great defense, there are no centers that can match up with him.

3. Kobe Bryant - I thought he was getting old when I watched the Lakers earlier this year. He's still got it though, and it seems that he's making even tougher shots than ever. One thing I would criticize him is for his shot selection though...sometimes it just seems off.

4. Derrick Rose - He's been able to get it done. I really respect players that are able to carry a team as their only star. No, Carlos Boozer doesn't count.

5. Dirk Nowitzki - simply said, he's amazing. Some people like to say he's never gotten a ring and therefore he's not too good. I think it's the exact opposite: look how far he's gotten the Mavs as their sole star player.

6. Kevin Durant - I think he's still the leading scorer and that's a title well-deserved.

7. Dwayne Wade - He's shared the weight with Lebron and Bosh to get a 2nd seed in the East (right now). I don't care that he has two great teamates, considering the rest of his team is horrible he's really been able to get it done.

8. Deron Williams - haven't watched many games, but stats would indicate he deserves a spot here.

9. Pau Gasol - I'm probably biased as a Lakers fan, but I can't seem to find anybody to put in this spot. A better defender than most people give him credit for and a great offensive player (though his post-game could be better imo).

10. Carmelo Anthony - He gets it done. Not afraid to take the ball late in the game and take over, he is one of the best offensive options in the game. Not to mention, to me at least, his defense seems to have gotten more intense.

I feel like the top 8 are really in a tier of their own and 9 and 10 were just picked because I needed to fill in spots. Also, looking at my list, besides for Melo, most of the players are on great teams. I realize that I'm probably biased (though I did leave out Nash on purpose).

If I was drafting right now I'd take age into consideration even more than you have, :) I'd want the Funky Town Fire franchise to be dominant for a long time! :D

1. Rose
2. James
3. Howard
4. Griffin
5. Durant
6. Tyreke Evans
7. Kevin Love
8. Chris Paul
9. Wade
10. Gordon

drafting now:

1. James
2. Howard
3. Durant
4. Paul
5. Westbrook
6. Griffin
7. Melo
8. Williams
9. Rose
10. Evans

I know I'll get mobbed by Rose fanboys, but the first two positions on this list are inarguable.

Mine -

1. Dwyane Wade - he is unguardable, explosive, excellent scorer AND playmaker. The best driver in the NBA. Extraordinary good defender (leads all players in NBA from 2003-present in blocks)

2. LeBron James - the most versatile player in the NBA, incredible speed and power, great team leader.

3. Dwight Howard - too big to stop, best defending big man, destroys defenses and opens up the outside.

4. Rajon Rondo - the best point guard in the NBA, eagle-eye vision, 100% accurate passes, still young and leads a team of veteran soon to be hall-of-famers

5.Chris Bosh - excellent shooter, very tall, great athleticism. he can drive the ball, set perfect screens, can play as C, and is a very good defender. gets the crowd involved with his emotion

6. Dirk Nowitzky - the best fade away in the NBA, incredibly accurate shooter, knows how to get his team involved. knows what it takes to win and plays at 100%.

7. Kevin Garnett - fearless, confident, team player. one of the best defenders in NBA history, leader. can post up very well and knock down jumpers at will. his emotions thrill the crowd and get everyone involved.

8. Carmelo Anthony - cannot be guarded, will drop as many points on you as he desires.

9. Derrick Rose - playmaker, scorer, unguardable. unlimited range and can single handedly take over games.

10. Kevin Love - unreal rebounder, can score the ball well, has great defense.brings it EVERY night! hopefully he will get a decent team soon to make the rebounds turn into points.

Honorable mentions -Lamar Odom, Pau Gasol, Ray Allen, Amare Stoudemire, Chris Paul
